Seasoncard Renewals | Slight Price Increase

I'm not sure of the actual number but they're definitely not a "token gesture" (especially to those lucky enough to grab one). They increased the number available for the 2015-16 season when the South Stand third tier opened and they added a few rows around the pitch side areas. We sold 40,000 season tickets that season.

We lost 1,100 pitch side seats when the double row advertising panels went in but I'd guess that less than half of those were season tickets and (presumably) they all relocated anyway.

I didn’t mean they were a token gesture to those who have them, it’s great for them.

I was asking if there were only a few hundred etc and that in statistics, we offer the lowest priced season tickets, but to hardly anyone.

The £299 increase wasn't in Value Gold it was in the back of SS3 which were normal season tickets, which happened to be the same price and they have lumped them together for that article. The front three rows and back of SS3 were never usually value gold as they sold out quick, you actually get more expensive 3rd tier seats on VG as they don't sell.

I'll ask, but I take it you're not in a position to reveal the Reps who were against?

I appreciate the City Matters Reps are within their rights as individuals to make that decision, but they are supposed to represent the fans who voted for them, and are accountable to those fans and other City fans, not just to themselves, so it would be fair and correct of those Reps to come forward and to explain why they voted against.

Just our of interest, who are the City Matters Reps now, as there have been a few changes since the original City Matters Reps were voted in by the fans?

Again not having a pop at you, PB, or the other City Matters Reps, but it's getting a bit tedious, frustrating, and it's becoming nothing more than a secretative talking shop where discussions are held in private, certain topics of discussions can't and are not being made public, reps are making decisions on the fans behalf and aren't accountable for those decisions (see above), and the minutes aren't being published on a quick and regular basis. When the minutes are published there's little or no real substance to them, and they are carefully worded by the club.

Perhaps a live zoom meeting between the Club and the City Matters Reps that City fans can watch on the OS would be a good idea? After all, you and the other Reps represent the fans, so we should be able to see and hear what's being discussed. I accept if this was to be arranged by the Reps and the club nothing commercially sensitive could be discussed. But any discussions that aren't commercially sensitive and impact on the fans should and can be discussed openly. Please put this zoom meeting on the OS to the other Reps and the club. Thanks.
I agree with a lot of what you have put.

It was me (the Under 25s), the Families, the Disabilities and the Seasonal Hospitality representatives that agreed with putting something out critical of a price increase.

I think one of the difficulties with City Matters and accountability is communication. Some of the representatives (particularly Mark the Disabilities representative) are forthright in informing supporters of what is happening and what their stance is. However, how do you ensure you reach every single supporter? I try to post on Bluemoon, the odd Facebook page and even Reddit, but you can't reach everyone. Having said that, I do think visibility is a particular weakness, especially for my constituency with younger supporters.

You can find the list of representatives here: https://www.mancity.com/club/city-matters. I was elected onto the committee in early 2021 alongside the Families, Women and BAME representatives.

In terms of your fourth paragraph, I agree entirely. Perhaps I was naive (I probably was) when joining, but I did expect the panel to be organised a lot better and with more of a meaningful input. The fact that this has not occurred has made me quite disillusioned with the process - I spoke about the issue of governance on Ian Cheeseman's podcast a few weeks ago.

I would be happy for a meeting or event of some kind to be live-streamed. I know there was talk of interviews in City Square and so on, but I think the real issue is a visibility of what City Matters ac tally does as opposed to who the representatives are.

My brother and I had a few seasons of value gold. Of the 3 seasons IIRC we were sat together once.. we then applied for the £299 seats at the back of SS3 .. they are together, you need a blast of oxygen when you get to the seats but we’re bang in line with the centre of the goal and even got to take the Covid gap year due to the pandemic (we’ve both got shielding partners so it made sense) but I’m looking forward to going back

I thought with £299 tickets you get put where you get put. You can’t apply for any specific stand, section or area? The seat they offer you is the seat you get.

For value gold you got put where they needed to fill spaces but since we got the seats at the rear of SS3 we’ve stayed there

They value gold and SS3 were both £299, but the VG stayed that price and SS3 now £350.

The price has pretty much gone up with inflation, pretty much everything is going up.

This will always divide as for some it’s an extra bit of money (and it is value).

Others paying more for the same thing as last season when struggling and justifying to others.

Your never going to please everyone, whilst running a business

Either you were unlucky or we were lucky. Me and my mate had every season from when Value started until the third tier of South Stand opened and we were together every time. In fact for the first two years of it, there were three of us together.
