Seat Counters - 2024/25

So about 27500 sold.
Makes you wonder what is the point, totally demoralising, We have to be the worst fan base in English football. City Till I Die, subject to contract.
Presumably you are not going then? But you can sit in judgement on other fans. You are not fooling anyone on this forum.

Or you could save £230 by getting the megabus

430pm is 90 minutes later than a traditional 3pm kick off. Are you so massively busy in your life that 90 minutes constitutes a “massive inconvenience”
Split train tickets via Brum from Manchester still available for £59 return straight to Wembley Stadium station and back. So much bollocks on this forum. I have no problem with people not attending. It's a free choice. But all the whining is doing my head in.

hopefully somebody reminds Talksport that this is City’s 30th Wembley appearance in the last few years before they no doubt get some clown on calling us plastic again
A blue just phoned up and said he’s been 28 times since 2012, and so for him and many others it’s just another day out.

I’m not the attendance police mate, whatever you wanna do with your life is absolutely none of my business

I was just tryna point out that cheaper methods of transport are available

I caught a coach to a game for the first time in donkeys years for the first fa cup final against the rags as there was a train strike. If City paid for the whole day out and once I got to Wembley put me in corporate hospitality, I would still rather stay at home than go through that again. Slow and gruelling wasn't the word, on a coach that aside from a toilet added to it, looked like one we used to catch to Blackpool when I was a kid in the sixties and was just as uncomfortable. Stuck in the pink car park for 2-1/2 hours before we even got started on the journey home, we finally limped into East Didsbury just before midnight. Winning made it just about bearable.
When I was younger I'd rough it to follow us everywhere. Hitchhike, sleep on train stations all night as we missed the last train home, the lot. The youngsters can have all that now, though in a few years we won't have any as they are being priced out. Still we've got all the tourists who'd pay anything to see the mighty all conquering City to take up the slack eh? Only this season we're not and they aren't. A wake up call to the wankers in charge of prices and ticketing.
Just checked coaches and yes they're relatively cheap, just under £30.If you set off at 6am and allowing for extra time/penalties coming back,as you have to, should arrive back in Manchester around 2am. That's to and from Victoria you have to make your own way to Wembley. The official green coach direct to Wembley stadium was £55 and is sold out.

Good luck to everyone going and enjoy your day.

? we have sold 27-28,000 this time & people are saying its one of our our worst turnouts?

It's not dreadful, the cost and the kick off time are both against City fans, for families it's a near non starter if the kids are at school, but i think it goes to show we still have a long way to go as a club, i don't think we market ourselves very well at all, social media/twitter followers means nothing if they don't physically attend. We have 37k season ticket holders, 140K members and 400+ supporters club with those incredible numbers you would think 36000 would be easy to shift, but for whatever reason we are miles off. The club are no better at selling tickets than when Bernard Halford was running the ticket office at Maine Road. Every semi final is a slow burner, so what do City do, last to put them on sale, criteria that drips feeds availability, weekend with no new criteria, the whole process is non sensical, we also create the impression it's going to be shit by offering only a % of the top tier for a start, we don't stimulate sales on the website, and we fall into the trap of only selling to the here and now, old and lapsed fans remain that.

If we are lucky enough to make another semi final in the near future i would allow cup scheme members to buy an extra ticket from day one, a reward for committing to the scheme, and by day 3 availability would be for everyone with any form of membership/supporter number.

Finally the club should have subsidised travel for this one or offered 50% off the concession prices as they are disgraceful, for a family it may have been the difference between attending or not, we have the furthest to travel, so the most expense and the least help, it is what it is, i still think we could have done much better, i always want City to be the best on and off the pitch.

Add to that the getting to the actual coach stop/station for that time in the morning on a Sunday with our shit transport system, not to mention getting back home after the drop off too.

These games should be 3pm Saturday the cheeky fuckers are killing football.

It's the whining about people not going that's got people whining why they aren't going which then gets everybody whining even more....if that makes sense.....lol!

Yes for the rag final I think the pick up from East Didsbury was 7:30 am. I just made it from Altrincham by walking 25 minutes to Navigation road and catching the first tram at 6:10, changing at Trafford bar for East Didsbury and that was a Saturday.

Heard it ! They moved on to another subject straight away. When the facts are stated clearly they know they won’t get some cartel fan coming on saying we can’t sell out cause we are plastic.

Imagine having kids in tow or a high maintenance wife even ;-)

Joking aside semi finals shouldn't be at Wembley I couldn't care less about the money men making money, the semi final should be somewhere inbetween the opposing teams and at a suitable time.

There's always cheaper methods, I could drive for a start. But the point I was making is that we've been blessed with so many visits since 2011, the cost of getting there (however you choose) is getting more expensive, supporters are already being pushed to the limit by the club. It's no wonder there's apathy towards this match.

But to have people on here, slagging off supporters who have made a conscious decision not to go (regardless of their reasons) gets on my fucking tits.

If anything, not selling out should be celebrated.
This is a really good post and I agree with the final line.

In my case, I'm not going because I'm running the marathon (in MCR not LDN).

I have a 2 year old and an 11 month old. I work around 45-50 hours per week. I volunteer loads of my spare time to 1894. I always go running (and prefer that as a hobby to watching City at the moment). I just have so much going on in my life, the trade-off of spending 10 hours of my weekend on a coach isn't worth it.

If the game was at Villa Park, Elland Road, or Hillsborough (or somewhere else in the middle point between ourselves and Forest), then I'd (theoretically) go. But I'm not fussed about Wembley. Would rather save my money (and more importantly time) for a potential final if we're lucky enough to get there.

Nothing can be as awful as the turn out against leicester - charity shield.
Well. Im going and 27k is a decent turnout .

Its nottingham forest big day out with loads of one game a decade supporters in their end.
We should have gave them our empty blocks . lets be honest, they wont be going to wembley 28 times in the next 14 years.

Let everyone crow on about empty seats, blah blah,
33k in the old 2nd divison...... fukin end of.

Enjoy the game eveyone
