Seat Counters - 2024/25

Am I correct in saying every cup final we have been in since 2011 has sold out?
I can't remember any not selling out.
(Community shield isn't a cup final)

Let’s get it set out straight before people get in a tizzy about a “sell out”. 10 years ago we never got level two this is a new thing because the FA and Wembley can’t sell it to their prawn sandwich lot so in my option it’s not a typical “general admission ticket” so other than the 100 on level 1 it’s a sell out plus we’ve sold the extra allocation before even just ordinary members without history etc.

Some people comments on here will on feed the frenzy and hysteria on social media when the truth is all bar 100 which will sell come Monday are sold. I don’t think anyone will even clock level 2 as it’s always 1/3 empty.

that’s not aimed at you that’s just a generic reply btw but some lurkers will seek to make a point of “not selling out”

It’s a joke. I honestly don’t know why the new criteria couldn’t have kicked in yesterday morning. Why does it always have to be a case of waiting the whole weekend before it changes on the Monday morning? And why only announce one new set of criteria for tomorrow? Even if they’re expecting it to sell out once the 10am window opens, there’s no harm in announcing another one in advance in case tickets remain.
I don’t believe there will be more than a few dozen sales when Monday morning’s criteria kicks in. There’s no way there are thousands of fans who’ve been to one cup game but not two waiting to spend £250-300.

There will be loads of touristy type members who wouldn't be seen dead at an early round FA cup game. These are the type of fans that will be willing to pay £250+ for a ticket. The process should have ended on Friday afternoon by opening it up to all members.
I agree with you. But wouldnt they have gone to one of the previous semi finals, then?
Those last two went to all members and one of them included the glamour of Chelsea.

Anyway - we agree they should be given a shot at tickets.
It is just when - They should have announced more criteria for Monday.

Agree with you 100%.
Also - the focus on City lets the FA off the hook in plain sight.
City have sold more than the initial allocation.

In addition, neutrals didnt fancy taking up THEIR allocation at the prices quoted.
That is the real issue.
Is a queer business where the punter can be blamed for a product that is overpriced.

Outside of football is there another entertainment or leisure company that sells tickets (home and away) like City does?

It must be one of the most disjointed, awkward, and frustrating ticket sales processes that exists.

It's totally outdated, not fit for purpose, and needs a radical rethink, especially with an extra 8000 tickets to sell at some point next season.

But I'm 101% sure the club, Danny Wilson, and the ticket office manager, etc will plough on regardless.(frustrating the hell out of the fans)

It’s painful and disrespectful, fans need the best opportunity and the most tome to book travel accommodation, they do care less, while supporter club members who don’t do a game get multiple cheap seats

I'm in a branch.

All branch members should get their own tickets. Like I did. And like the majority of the fans do who aren't in OSC branches.

There is no need for the club to set cup final tickets, seats, and blocks a side for OSC branches and OSC members.

So, let’s think this through shall we.
We have something like 150000 members, all presumably, able to buy tickets for a game, should they wish.
Season tickets holders number 35000 maybe, I’m not sure.
God knows how many Tunnel Club/ executive box owners?
3000 away fans.
A capacity of 53400, soon to be 61000 ish.
So, maybe 12000 ish available seats for other members, before season ticket resales which are apparently around 3000 per match.
It equates to some 100k fans who, on a hoc basis, buy the odd ticket for a match., ish?
Our Branch had 260 ish members, some always buy tickets themselves, we get next to no away tickets so high point owners buy their own.
Only a small nucleus travel regularly to away games, maybe 15.
Around 75 are season tickets holders, the rest match day members, that’s the minimum to get a ticket in our branch.
For the FA Cup final, around 125 are going, around 90 got tickets through the OSC, at £125 a pop, so not cheap!
Everybody who has a Cup final ticket, have been to games, dso me over decades of support for City.
So remind me again, what is the difference with an OSC member getting a ticket and, one of the 100k plus match day members who do the odd game when they can, also getting a ticket.
Or indeed, one of the 15k FA tickets, circulated to grass roots and other clubs across the country, which are used by any Tom, Dick or Harry?!

The difference is a supporters club member who has not done a single game applies for a final ticket, many asking for more than 1 (sometimes not a member of the club (35 quid paid), so the supporters club pool resources) and they get a certain ticket (more than 1) and in the lower price bracket. They have not got a season ticket, a membership, done a single game, given City literally nothing and through their branch have secured a nice cheap ticket/s before season card holders and proper members, doesn't seem fair to me, others think otherwise. These non supporters should be down the pecking order and if tickets remain you would see how truly keen they are.
