Seat Counters - 2024/25

I kind of agree with the new criteria for Cityzens who have been to cup games but it makes you wonder...what is the point of the points scheme?

You could be a member with a zillion points but you're still behind someone tomorrow who went to a few cup games.

That is unlikely though. Members struggle to get to games as it is - their best opportunity is the cup matches so I reckon most members will qualify at some point - though may well not like the prices.

Not going to get into the debate about where members are in the pecking order as have commented on that before.

I bet there are some Cityzen members with big numbers. Maybe they gave up a s/ticket in the past?

I reckon will be able to buy additional tickets - mainly higher priced on Monday, but will sell out.
The criteria stagger fir members seems a fair one to me.
Everyone will know where they are by Monday evening.
I think it will sell out tomorrow.
Just about every member will be able to buy tomorrow.

My brother gave up his seasoncard when he started a young family. Never managed to get it back. He probably won't even know that he's eligible to buy tomorrow.

Just been on the Palace forum (Holmesdale) and they've had one queue where all ST holders + members log on at the same time and are given a random position in the online queue. ST holders for 30 years are posting about being 25000th in the queue and waiting hours before they are able to buy a ticket (if there's any left).

Puts the City experience into perspective.

It’s a difficult one with no easy answer.
Basing it on points rewards long term loyalty but it means that someone that hasn’t been to an FA Cup tie for years potentially gets priority over somebody that made the effort to go to Salford, Plymouth and the SF this season.

I hate what is happening with ticket prices, especially at our own club where we've priced out a generation of young working class support.

But to play devil's advocate, the FA Cup final is an iconic world sporting event. They could probably sell it out at twice the price if it was on open sale just to tourists and social media influencers in London alone.

The prices for us are horrible at the upper end. But is this the first price rise in years? Seem to recall Stoke being not too far off what they are now at the lower end.

My advice for season card holders is get on the Cup scheme for early dibs of the cheaper tickets. I got one for the final at £50 and it was £30 for virtually the same seat at the semi - row 20 upper tier.

Sadly we can now only dream about those sort of prices for big games at the Etihad. So make the most of it if you can. It's only gonna get worse.

I believe they are gradually trying to phase out points. Nowadays, everything is dependent on prior attendance at a particular competition over a specified period of time. The only time points matter are when season ticket holders buy tickets to away games. I don't think you'll see a match day membership points criteria again.

To be fair to them it's an entirely new experience for them.

Our ticket office has had well over a decade of success to be far more competent than they are.

I suspect you’re correct. It’s all about incentivising buying tickets now as far as the club is concerned. Points accrued years ago don’t contribute to the PSR accounts!

Not sure , majority of members ain’t from Manchester I reckon and aren’t really interested in the Salford at home cup games .
I was at that game and my impression was that there were loads of local families. The game was sold out as I remember and I am pretty confident that at least half the crowd were local Mancs.

There is an impression on this forum that City's fanbase is becoming more international. I think it's becoming more international and more local at the same time because there is a strong trend for out of town seasoncard holders not to go to the Cup games and local City fans can come in their place.

They've got about 18,000 season ticket holders but not all of them have got tickets to the final apparently. Just been a complete free for all.
