I spoke to a few such fans in our end against Spurs in 1981. They thought it was great they could attend a cup final as the small local team they supported would never get to one. Over 40 years later and the cup final.not having the aura it did back then I wonder if the interest would still be as strong. Also that game was the centenary cup final so I think a lot wanted to be there just for that alone.

And it was about £2.50 a ticket.

I have very happy memories of being 16 and winning decent money (for that age) on Mr Frisk winning the National, next day getting in loads of cans and sitting round my sisters with mates drinking it all watching Palace beat Liverpool in the semi final 4-3.
