Seat Counters 25/26

How do you "points whore" now ?
If all the away tickets went to the loyalty points system, most games would down to members .
As has been proved countless times this season, even without the full allocation of tickets going in this pot.
There is only one group of people preventing this and that is Manchester City Football Club who in their infinite wisdom deem it fit to distribute 20% of away tickets to any Tom Dick and Harry
Getting full loyalty points for non attendance at home games mate.

I agree it’s bollox that 60% of season card holders miss the same Prem game. I think a third is a lot more realistic (at the top end of fans who can’t make the game).

Most of our season card holders are diehard Blues. Maybe that’s been undermined a bit by City paying fans to stay away with the 12 game guaranteed refund scheme but it’s nowhere near 60%.

Switching to Roachy’s comment that our number if season card holders will swindle if the trophies / wins dry up. I don’t see it myself. I can see the extra 4k season cards / flexis selling too. The prices need to be reasonable of course.

In addition, I think we’ve all got a responsibility to help grow the next generation of fans. City could start with reinstating the Junior Blues. Fook the cartoons from New York, though I appreciate I’m not the target audience for them lol.
Hello Tim, I've read your post and understand where you're coming from. My point was that if the teams fortunes do diminish on the pitch, and the current numerous ticketing shenanigans continue we may well see a downturn in people attending in the numbers we've had in the recent past. The club need to have a rethink about what it wants unless they're not arsed of course. Anyway, lets hope the team is soon back in top form with sell out crowds.

Didn’t know I had to pay a £35 fee just to have a privilege of buying match tickets this season. Because I haven’t paid that and not bought a ticket this season I can’t purchase tickets. It’s a fucking joke. Thousands of seats left for tonight too. Do they want bums on seats or not?

Apart from them selling out

Their attendances throughout their history compare favourably with ours. We're both well-supported clubs from Northern cities that haven't had it easy at times, what's wrong with giving others credit?

Yes, I'm a fucker for attendances and I've always been into researching them. Geordies were massively supported in the 50s (especially)and the 20s and 30s also. We over took them from the 70s until the early to mid 90s when Keegan took over, then we overtook them when our ground was extended. I'd say since 1900 they've probably shaded it,but these, along with both red shits, with Everton and Chelsea(in the first half of century) were always up there as the big crowd pullers. I really don't mind Newcastle and one or two silly comments from a usually decent fan base shouldn't define them.

Newcastle fans will have a field day tomorrow night with their chants of empty seats
They will indeed.
Its their main obsession.
A one club city.

We are in a city with arguably the biggest club FAN BASE on the planet. And we usually get 55,000 for premier league game. Thats impressive

To be fair, the very first time I heard the "Where were you when you were shit?" chant was New Year's Day 1994 when we lost 2-0 away at Newcastle. And it was City fans singing it to Newcastle fans across the segregation line in response to the Geordies singing "You're just a bunch of losers" to us. I'd never previously heard the chant from any other fanbase which leads me to think that it originated from our fans on that particular day

Usually I sympathise with the club on matter like this, but recent ticketing measures applied by the club to innocent supporters have turned me.

Fuck them - they deserve it. They continue to put our home and away tickets on third party websites, while banning blues for giving tickets to a mate. At some point the tens of thousands of empty seats will be a wake up call to someone.
Very good point

Like everyone else Newcastle’s crowds collapsed in the 80s but they have always had great away support. In fact our support is very similar to theirs and always has been. Some of the best atmospheres I have been in have involved matches with them. I remember a cup match at Maine Road with 60,000 there for starters. I think it was 1969. St James Park is the best away trip as well.

Just go on the Face Value pages or the ticket forum on here if you want to go to the gane.

i agree, we are up against whether we like it or not the behemoth that is utd and what we get week in week out is nothing short of impressive
all these one club cities can do one in my opinion

I remember us singing it to Blackburn around the same era and I thought we'd made it up too.

Haha, I can't remember when I first heard it but, it would be another typical City moment.

On sale to all Cityzens (on the database before Tue 16 Dec 2025) who have purchased 1+ home fixtures at the Etihad Stadium**. 4 tickets per person

Exactly. The "Membership" was sold as an opportunity to get priority on tickets. Not that it locked out fans without one completely (not just Newcastle). And it had nothing to do with safety/away fans getting tickets in home sections. The club has purchase history with supporter numbers going back a decade plus!! Which they could utilise if they wanted too. Plus anyone can buy a ticket anywhere if will to pay Viagogo pricing.

Ive said this before, but my cousin has 3 kids (the 2 lads especially are 13 and should be the future of the club). All City mad. Or they were. They weren't the best fans ever, but would go to 3, 4, maybe 5 games per season. Early rounds of Champions League, FA or League cup. They took up the slack for the less glamorous games. They haven't been for 18 months now with this membership shite and lack of transfer of tickets. I asked her if they were all going tonight, her response "not even thought about goin". How many times is that replicated, all over Manchester.

Things need to change!!

Not having a go at you, but why lock out over 7 weeks before the actual fixture??

Getting full loyalty points for non attendance at home games mate.
Something definitely needs to be done, but rather than deducting points for non attendance (which under the current archaic points system won't make that much difference) the club should be incentivising and rewarding full attendance

For example, I'm in 119 and pay £840 for my Seasoncard
However I'm also in all the cup schemes and thus far at 100% attendance in a season that's already guaranteed 28 home games

I don't mind paying £900 next season but with a refund of £100 if I attend every game or maybe £50 for 90% attendance

Then again why should the club listen to me?

I'm just an ordinary supporter who was involved in an industry that studied price elasticity for 25 years

Good idea mate.

I pay around £4k per year in home tickets. I would be satisfied if City would have put the last 50 tickets on sale for Liverpool away, instead of the mysterious disappearing act.

That said, I probably wouldn’t have gone anyway cos I dislike Anfield but it would have been nice to have the choice.
