Seat Counters 25/26

If there is a "question that needs to be asked" it's why our fanbase hasn't grown as it should, because if you take those clubs out of it, we've seen big attendance growth at clubs like Spurs, West Ham and Everton, and they've won virtually nothing.

The answer for me is ticket availability and also the club's poor image caused the poor atmosphere at home, the 115 charges and also the whole onslaught from social media.
I agree with your points Dave. I would add a reduction in local estates they were a breeding ground for fans.

All is not lost though. Plenty of Blue families might have wanted to go to Prem games but couldn’t get tickets together. The new stand / season ticket expansion will hide more of those opportunities.

I chatted families of Blues at the Women’s Derby. The parents / grandparents were once regulars and some of these Blues could possibly return.

That said, the world is a changing place and the days of me and r kid heading to Wolves as 8 and ten year olds and not knowing how to pronounce the ground may be long gone.

you get 30500 tickets for the final.
As well as the 50,000 ticket split between the two finalists, approximately 20,000 tickets will be distributed to volunteers through the football family which includes counties, leagues, local clubs and charities.

Football family tickets will also include the 92 Premier League & Football League clubs plus another 134 Full Member clubs and all clubs that have reached the Third Round of this season’s competition.

As The FA Cup Final is part of the Club Wembley membership package, 17,000 tickets will be used by Club Wembley members.

Solution is simple , die hard fans who purchased semi final ticket should get automatic first dibs at a final ticket (regardless of points/ membership/season tickets osc), 33k tickets for semi final are allocated to City for semi finals but only 23k will be allocated for final if we get there. They would sell out by tomorrow
If they announced that criteria fans would just buy semifinal tickets and not bother going.

incredible effort from them fair play. we'll be heavily outnumbered by them then. sure we'll get some stick for that

they are bang up for it, as per usual we are not, i think it shows what a small/apathetic fanbase we actually have as opposed to what we think we have, i know people who could easily afford it but just cannot be bothered, which obviously is their choice.

you think people would pay 70 quid plus and not actually attend?

If the only way people would be eligible to buy a final ticket was to buy a semi final ticket then yes. Certainly the 40 quid ones would be.

yeah pal i know plenty who simply cannot be arsed for this game despite them having the money but will be all over the final.

Just to be clear I give zero fucks how many Southampton bandwagon jumpers get a ticket or how many City sell .I won't be going as I am in Majorca, looking forward to some sunshine as the FA didn't tell me last may the dates for the semifinal and septic peg didn't tell me city would be playing in it :)

I think we're in a strange position where our fanbase worldwide is undeniably growing massively, however our local fanbase seems to be shrinking. Unfortunately for the club, the local fanbase are the ones that sell out stadiums.

If they care in the slightest, they need to think long and hard about their Pricing/Ticketing strategy over the next few years
I’d say the majority of the young kids growing up in Manchester are blues nowadays, just walking about or seeing the shirts at youth football games etc. The local fanbase has definitely grown
The problem is how the club has been almost openly hostile to local support post lockdown with pricing and ticketing policies.
You can have all the local support you want, the problem is getting them in the ground affordably

don't we have a thread that is about City shirts everywhere? and yet we are going to wembley chasing a treble with a following that a league 1 side would easily take

I agree with this. And the answer is staring us in the face every game - that big shiny new stand. It just needs someone with vision to put long term finances ahead of short term ones.

And that is exactly the same scenario in our circle.
I have already posted that out of the 56 we took to the final only 18 are going to the semi.
Just out of our sample alone it was clear this was never going to sell out.
We could have offered everyone 6 tickets each and still wouldn't have sold the match out.
We do not have the fan base of Liverpool, Arsenal and those people from the piggery and we never will.
They were so fortunate to be the dominant teams at the time of football coming onto mainstream tv.
Out of our group for League cup final we’ve lost 6 and gained 1, lots saving their money for the final to be hoped we get there.

See how many a league one side would take on their 30th visit, barely a month after the previous one

for me it's always about City, the ground is irrelevent, it's about getting our club to another final, i have done all the established grounds in the premier league 30/40 times each anyhow, so to me it's a 30 quid ticket and just another away day, i understand people not paying 70 plus though that is too much and the concession prices are shit. Maybe the club could have rewarded cup scheme members by chopping off 20 quid on all the tickets above 70 quid and just took it off our share of the gate. I hope one day semi finals are not at wembley as it's clearly as no appeal to 90% of our fanbase

I'd agree that most youngsters in Manchester are blue, however I don't think we're translating these into match going fans, especially if the parents aren't. Price and Ticket restrictions make it impossible for Manchester's working class to regularly attend games at the Etihad, let alone take their City mad youngster.

so a complete missed opportunity and a waste of time, no doubt the etihad will be rocking with tourists sunday, who will have no interest in cheering the lads on at wembley. Am i alone in thinking our fanbase has lost it's identity
