One of our authorised corporate selling partners is offering the Vermilion off-site package for the Brighton game for €45!!!. That includes a free drink, plus a 3 course buffet and match ticket. Flipping hell.

These hard core who no longer attend is it purely the 50 quid a ticket that they are not prepared to pay?
The ticket price is something the club can do something about.

But if your hard core don't like evening kos, busy Trams, early kos, "Tourists", 3 games in a week,

We have never in recent history had more than 39000 core fans, so in regularly attracting over 50000 to the Stadium, the club may believe they are doing OK.

Sorry if I haven't totally concurred
I was a fairly hard core fan in the 90s and 00s but have pretty much stopped going now.

I don't see city as being that different to other top clubs where the ticket price for decent seats at decent games is just way beyond what an average person can afford on a regular basis. When I would go and stand on the Kippax in the 90s the price was not a big factor. However I'm not sure the ticket prices are the main factor. Its life in general that has squeezed peoples disposable incomes. A seat at main Rd would be £10-15 that's not far off today's cost when inflation adjusted.

I agree. I have read a few scientific studies, and they raise some interesting societal factors. Not for discussion in bluemoon, as they would be just , ffs, shit.
One poster replied to my post about pricing referring to a family of four. When you and I stood on the Kippax (or sat) the family of four going to the game was a rarity, now it seems commonplace.

Newcastle Away:

695 Showing, however only 3 of the 9 blocks are on sale. Think we might struggle to sell this one out
The Newcastle game is a slow seller, theres around 471 tiks still available in those 3 blocks...TBH im quite shocked given this is a semi final. At this rate, we could have one of our lowest away supports we have seen at Newcastle!

I think some will be waiting until the centre blocks open, although im a little surprised by the slow sales..I think we will sell out though probably after it goes to open sale

I think that's a fair point, but kids these days want to go and watch football just as much as we did when we were youngsters. It's just nowhere near as accessible.

I spoke to a mate who's a Stockport fan yesterday, and you wouldn’t belive the amount of youngsters at their games who come from families of City and united fans.
Kids these days might wanna go once or twice to see superstars like Haaland close up but after the initial novelty of that wears off will they gall in love with going to the match like we did, seduced by the fun and the atmosphere and the camaraderie ? Or will they instead think nah it’s a bit fucking boring this - no swearing no singing no drinking no standing, it’s pissing down, I’d rather be at home

Newcastle match hasn't yet got to all STs. As a non-ST holder living in the North East I'm very much hoping it doesn't sell out this afternoon, but it would be a bit shameful if we didn't sell out at all.

It’s the first leg factor, if it was the 2nd leg it’d be a different story

im not sure what it is, but this is unusuall. Any st holder can now get one and theres still 333 left from the initial 3 blocks. i might eat my words, but not a chance we will sell the 9 block allocation!!

Surprised at the Newcastle one.
Apathy I guess.... after so much success. It's the first semi I'll have missed since we got good.

Probably due to the fact it's the worst ground for away fans , I refuse to give the barcode twats any money again until they provide oxygen & binoculars

why what would we have to be ashamed of???

We didn't sell out the first leg of the League Cup semi-final against the rags in 69/70.

Indeed, as I recall, tickets went on open sale for the second leg, so we probably didn't sell our full allocation for the swamp.

Should we have been ashamed for the last 56 years...?

Got the lad (ST holder) a ticket for Newcastle which will be his first away. He's there at uni but haven't been able to get one for the league games.

Hopefully he can do a few more aways over the next few years, although generally impossible to get tickets for anything remotely local at a weekend, which is a shame for the younger ones who don't get the chance. Although I've had a ST since 95 and generally don't have anywhere near enough points anymore.

There were 27k at the FAC tie with Scunthorpe in 2006. Scunthorpe brought 6k fans. The attendance for the Exeter match is going to be nearly double that.

That was one of the games why they changed the rules on ticket prices.

I think after arbitration the FA settled on £18 but SU appealed and got nowhere, and City charged £15 to subsidise the home fans for fear of driving them off the Cup Scheme, like Arsenal in the LC ddu at £25.

Fowler hattrick, swapped end at half time like you could those days with empty seats a plenty NSL.

I'm pretty sure the cup schemes didn't exist in 2006. It was a post takeover, Gary Cook led thing.
