Seat Counters 25/26

Not forgetting the changes to parking that were introduced. That’s a problem for weekday night games for many. Once someone packs in the night games, loses the routine and realises how much money and time they save, it’s a big job to win them back.
We've been saying for years that once fans stop going they don't come back. This is it playing out before our very eyes.

Just to

Just to add..out of the lads that I go with, all season ticket holders and been going donkeys years all jacked off mid week champions league fixtures. That's VERY telling to me...like you say ,its starting to bite them in the arse.

at least I’ll be attending Napoli and maybe dortmund too. Won’t get a look in for the semi final tho lol

Not been to CL game for six years since I was moved fom my seat in 204 to 201 so some twat holding a selfie stick could have my seat as corporate guest.
The clubs created this scenario.
Yet still I don't think the club comprehends the amount of ill feeling between the top and the clubs loyal staunch support.

Winning it was great, I'm not denying that but a rift is growing.

35 seats just appeared for the Derby on the OS. Many seated together. The hospitality packs didn't sell I suppose.
Some people will still claim these are season ticket returns....

Imagine when the new stand opens,, 17k unsold,,,,, you have royally fkd up city,,, if this does not kick them up the arse on how there treating there loyal fan base, nothing will!

Everything I've seen in this thread today shows why I don't buy into this idea that you can say "look everyone, the pricing is good for Napoli and we're still not selling out"

Good pricing is about a sustained effort to keep the prices consistently affordable for the local fanbase, not just for the odd game here and there.

Over the past few years when the tourists have been able to take the slack for these kinds of games, the club has become greedy and completely forgotten about it's local fanbase, and many have just decided to pack it in.

The club should be desperate to win the lapsed fans back and £35 isn't going to do that I'm afraid.

A few I know dropped the Uefa Scheme after last year, and a bet that means net a few thousand did it.

The £37.50 first game minimum for an adult last year, the extra group game, the complete disregard to try and be competitive after the 75th minute v Feijenoord, no idea what the cost will be, and the expensive extra play-off game, was the collective truss of straws which did it for some.

In incentive of the cheap final tickets is no longer a draw after doing 2 and the Wembley one missed. The cheapest seats I can buy are £40 for adults and they are singles near me, or £40/45 for the 3rd tier in a different timezone.

Peak demand was 2023/24 when the expansion decision was made, and now it isn't. The Arena and club sponsored parking restrictions makes evening games more difficult, and this one was short notice (Napoli).

Even Hudds away selling slowly, partly due to sacrificing that comp in the last 3 years. It was £17 on the gate v Brum in the LC in 2021 at home, and at £1 more after 24 years means you can't blame the price. I know it isn't anywhere near the late 2006 demand nadir for the century, and demand for big games is still there, but it is certainly in decline.

I agree with everything that you've posted, but playing Devil's Advocate, the average attendance has almost doubled since the late 90 and those loyal/lapsed supporters are also ageing and slowly becoming marginalised as everything seems to become more of an effort

The best thing that City have done recently is the Matchday Bus Service, particularly from the East Cheshire/North Derbyshire corridor, where driving to night matches has become a complete pain in the arse.

For many CL non attendees that's actually more of an issue than price and don't forget that even if we only get 45,000 for the Napoli game it's still higher than virtually every Maine Road European attendance.
