Seat Counters 25/26

Its decent but as a long time admirer of the work of seat counters, the Wembley semi-finals and finals are where the seat counters really hit their straps.

Im praying for a Carabao Cup final appearance, as much for the seat count, as the day out tbh. The Palace FA Cup final seat count was far better than the match.
The post-match traffic jam was better than the match.

I was at back of terrace watching a kids game in the park. Seem to remember Boat race on that day as well, may have my years mixed up though.
I was there and it was definitely the boat race , one of them sank.
Not sure how much it was a joke but Cambridge had the same colours and I think they may have swelled our numbers a bit. I did hear one of two posh accents !

It is really hard work getting to games these days. The trains are a shambles and the roads are gridlocked. I am near Preston but two hours to get home from a night game is routine by car. That said I would not miss a game for anything apart from health. Watching Haaland is a privilege. I love the night matches.
This isn't necessarily City's fault, but last Sunday (and next Sunday) the Manchester-Buxton train was/is scheduled for 18:49 and then 20:49, meaning that if you live south of Hazel Grove (and we're talking hundreds, if not thousands of blues) then you face a simple choice

Leave the ETIHAD early to have any chance of catching the 18:49 or hang around Manchester on a Sunday evening for almost two hours

Alternatively we can all drive.

Match Day Bus 7 is a start, but the roads just can't cope with the pre match bottleneck which only worsened after the previous stadium capacity increase

As you say, night matches are even worse, and as I write I know two blues who've just given up en route

It's why we are not there tonight.
Buxton, then another 1hours drive across the Peak.
We stay over now for night games.

Train times not City's issue, nor how packed that Buxton train is usually

Yeah I know mate,. but it's mitigation for the early leavers
You probably know my brother who lives in Buxton and has just given up after being stuck in Dove Holes traffic for an hour

And it's the same for the other route to Romiley-Bredbury-Marple-New Mills: 6:45 then the next one is 8:45.

We got a (packed) train to Stockport and then £22 for a taxi from there to NM. I forgot about the matchday bus service but not sure if our travelling party could last on that for over an hour without needing the toilet!

Trains on a Sunday? I dream of such extravagance, living in Bramhall.

I'm on that line too, and trains were every two hours each way. I normally get the train for weekend games but didn't bother for Bournemouth and it looks like I won't for Liverpool either. Does anyone know why the trains are so spread out now? Is this a new train timetable, or a current issue with works on the line or staffing problems?

I've been stung by the unreliability of matchday bus 7 before so my only option is to drive, which isn't fun as the roads (especially going to the game) are rubbish.

Matchday Bus 7 was fine last night but didn't turn up for Napoli and one of last season's European games.
However I live in the Grove now so I've got a few more travel options than when I lived in Whaley

I also get the train for weekend games, and the Sunday 4:30 slots are a nightmare. I think it's something to do with the line maintenance but I'm not totally sure

I have every sympathy with those supporters who leave early for the 18:49, especially if they've got young families
Hanging around for the 20:49 is a complete pain in the arse, and means getting home 3-4 hours later from a game that only took place 25 miles away

Bbc once voted Doveholes the worst village in England.
I normally enjoy the drive across the Peaks, then the train from Buxton. But that is for 3pm ko, or 5.30. I am not in a rush, I enjoy a pint.
Night games we stay over just outside Denton and use the Match bus which is a great service.
Looked a good crowd and decent atmosphere last night.

How is Fulham looking, can we expect some new points criteria next week? I’m on 18.5k, hopefully get tickets with it being midweek.
