Seat Counters 25/26

No idea, but visible rows/sections in the north stand and the two rows in front of me. I get it’s January and people are unwell (me included), but it’s been like this for quite a few games this season

I think a lot of it is because of the club keeping large amounts of seats just for ticketing websites, which we can’t sell. You only have to look at the corporate sections when we don’t play a top side - half empty
Blocks had 50-150 unsold on the exchange each.

It was a low demand match all around for obvious reasons.

.........
One regular poster finds it amusing to continually belittle midweek non-attendees for using "school nights" or "bad weather" as mitigating Circumstances
......
That would be me. I'm sorry. Very, very sorry. I'd have apologised earlier but I was preparing to go out to a football match in the cold and dark.
And I got home safely. Hurray!!! Just like usual after a night game, even when it's cold and dark and I'm actually working tomorrow. Perhaps I'm some sort of miracle worker. Or perhaps not as tens of thousands fellow Blues also put their fears aside to brave the cold and dark. - At least it wasn't raining.
Sorry again though.

Four games in 10 days, two of them in the last 3 days. Mrs 2112 was seriously pissed off when I told her on Monday we was playing again tonight. At least she got to wear her new winter coat I said. Far too many games too close together and another on Saturday. The first week of the new year when everyones skint. 7.30pm kick off, fighting the rush hour traffic, 50 minutes just to get out of Bury town centre tonight and then another 40 mins to get home to Denton just to rush out to the game and get there 3 minutes before kick off, its fucking hard work.

Games changing dates at the drop of a hat and kick off times are as random as Peps player positions. Our football is hardly electric to watch. Its freezing. Its expensive and far too many games for people to afford. A lot of the time I wish I could get off the ride but im hooked up for life but its getting harder with Mrs2112 constantly reminding me we now have a grandson and she wants to spend her money elsewhere as we both reach our 60's. We've been watching City together since we met in 1984 and me since 1972 and part of me agrees with her it's time to spend our money on other things. But maybe we'll look at it the season after next ;-)

Where have all the tourists, glory hunters, and general football fans gone that Soriano & Co have been chasing and prioritising during the last decade of success?

We all said they wouldn’t last when City stopped winning the title and trophies.

Let’s see what Soriano & Co come up with to fill an extra 8000 seats later this year and next season.
It completely baffles me that their entire business model has been completely dependent on continued success on the field.

Did they really think after we won the treble that the influx of tourists was just going to last forever!

sorry mate but your a doom merchant on everything weather it’s pep and his tactics or brickwork on new stand which is mint btw and I know because I’m a bricke ,I know your passionate about the club as we all are just try have bit of faith

One problem is the new ticket rules for transfers. Me and the mrs couldnt make Leeds at short notice but could do nothing about it. (Was going until a couple of hours before the game).Too late to put on the exchange and unable to transfer ticket despite having someone who would have had them. Result - 2 empty seats!!!
Agreed

Yes, the brickwork has improved thankfully. I’ve noticed that as well. I see wonderful brickwork on many developments in the city centre. And have praised that on SSC-MCR.

I posted the pictures at the start of the brickwork. Other posters were discussing the quality of the brickwork from my closeup pictures of it, not just me.

So you think watching our current style of play is exciting do you?

What's incorrect about what he said?

Yes I do I’d rather watch us than arsenal will they probably walk it yes but don’t tell me we’re boring to watch not after the shit we watched years ago before pep we are privileged we can’t win trophies every year

It’s going to be seriously embarrassing for some games, probably many games the way it’s going, when the new stand opens

I was glad I was at the game. Two decent teams and we just couldn’t get the winner. It was far better being at the game than being stuck in. The pints of Guinness and pain killers helped with my torn knee cartilage. I might even forget about Haaland not taking the sitter lol.

I went back on my word about not trying to help Blues short of cash get into the game. Credit to another poster for all his help but we couldn’t get 2 lads in the game cos they didn’t have paid memberships.

Keep the faith. We’ve had 2 tough home games in 3 days and an another tough game in 3 days. Two sold out games and a decent attendance at the third give the cold weather and all the expense fans face.

Get behind the lads and we will turn the corner.

I've said this a few times but I've tried to get tickets on sooo many occasions but cannot get 2 tickets together.

There's loads of single tickets which is annoying.

I bought hospitality tonight because i wanted to go with my dad but it really is frustrating.

If you read my comments, not sure it’s in this thread, I said Pep’s current style of football isn’t as exciting as his style of football played by his previous City teams over the last decade or so.

I’m fully aware of what City’s football was like pre Pep. I’ve been watching City since 1976 when I was 9 years old. I‘ve followed City home and away for 34 years when they won fuck all. And I went to York away. :-)

I’m not talking about winning trophies. Arsenal won the title and trophies when they were wining 1-0.”1-0 to the Arsenal”

At the risk of repeating myself again and again, I’m talking about Pep’s current style of robotic football, sideways, backwards, pivot, swivel, slow, etc.

If you honestly think this style of Pep’s football is exciting, thrilling to watch, and gets you excitied and off your seat, if you don’t stand, then fair enough. I’m glad you enjoy watching it.

Off to bed. I’m up at 3:40am in the morning.

The club is trying too hard to expand the fanbase at a rate in which it will yield very little return and instead has alienated the core group of support that has held up the club for the past 40 years or so.

City in my opinion has a core support of about 45k who will show up guaranteed every week and it has been like that probably up until the new stand was built back in 2014. The new 53k build was probably perfect for where we currently are now in that it fulfills new fans coming to watch whilst still allowing for the increased new core support to add to the 45k.

Trying to go from 45k core support to more than 60k in less than 15-20 years and have the stadium sold out was dreamland territory for the club. That will take another 10 years at a minimum and is subject to further success.

Manchester is also not London. It doesn't have the tourist numbers to fulfill selling out three 60k stadiums and a 75k stadium within its vicinity in my opinion. Not in this economy with the price to go to a game.

51 quid behind the goal and 53 down the side against brighton, midweek, 3 home games in 6 days, last night should have been 30 quid and kids for a fiver, its way to dear

Wasn't it £30 in SS3 for tickets not taken by Brighton? Seemed to be quite a lot of Blues up there.

When they treat fans like we are doing then there will be empty seats.
Nephew has a flexi-gold and has been to all but one home game this season.
He phoned on Monday cos he'd not had his email for Brighton.
They said he'd missed the deadline.

He explained he'd hadn't and told them when he'd applied.
Woman said she couldn't find a record and charged him £50!!!!!!!!!
