Seat Counters 25/26

Anyone else think the new stand opening is delayed due to recent poor attendances? It was supposed to open in January right?! I think the only solution is a completely revised pricing structure to re-engage local fans!

Gonna take alot to bring them back unless you offer them season tickets, get them back full time not use them to cover the tourists/fans who only want Big games.

After 50 odd years of having a season ticket I'm probably going to call it a day they main reason parking it's a massive pain in the arse I don't mind getting the train ( from Warrington ) but night matches there's no late trains home, the trams back to town are a joke, it all just takes the enjoyment out of what use to be the highlight of my week.

Ive said it a million times, the club/sorriano have royally fucked up.
They could have secured the next generation of young blues, i live in a suburb where 20 years ago you never saw a blue shirt on a kid, now every training session i see there are more city kits on kids than red ones.
I know of blokes who have moved to the area who are big fans of other clubs, boro, cov, lad from northern ireland, a geordie, etc. guess who there 9 year old sons support???? Yep, City.
Even a big red, whos 2 older sons support utd, youngest … a blue.

Thats a micro example of what could/should have been our future support locked in for decades.
But no, that prick sorriano flashed his cleavage at the tourists.

What a fuck up.

Ive been told from someone who would very much know, sorriano has very little time for “us lot”.
I was on a plane with Soriano and I was in business class, he was in first class

What surprised me was his partner and kid were also not in first class with him, they were with us

I was glad I was at the game. Two decent teams and we just couldn’t get the winner. It was far better being at the game than being stuck in. The pints of Guinness and pain killers helped with my torn knee cartilage. I might even forget about Haaland not taking the sitter lol.

I went back on my word about not trying to help Blues short of cash get into the game. Credit to another poster for all his help but we couldn’t get 2 lads in the game cos they didn’t have paid memberships.

Keep the faith. We’ve had 2 tough home games in 3 days and an another tough game in 3 days. Two sold out games and a decent attendance at the third give the cold weather and all the expense fans face.

Get behind the lads and we will turn the corner.
Spot on.

Two decent teams, Brighton pushed for a winner, missed chances, Academy lad debut, City under lights.

Two good pints of cask before the game in new Head of Steam and Port Street, good chat to fellow Sheffield Blue on train back.

Nothing beats being there. And I had to get the train from Rye in Sussex yesterday morning.

It’s alway a bit special to see a young Blue make their debut.

Can't even engage with his own family, so the fans have no chance.

I think crumbling infrastructure is far and away the biggest issue to deter matchgoing fans. Modern european countries have cheap and fast transport 24 hours a day in most major conurbations. It is a bloody lottery getting to midweek matches..and I only live 30 miles away.

Surprised there’s no trains back to Warrington for night matches. I live in Barrow and can get the 2217 train home. Have to leave right on the final whistle though.

Did all tickets sell for Newcastle A or did we give them some back?
We've only sold 6 of the 9 blocks which is the normal away end, so approx 3.2k sold.

Website is currently saying sold out, which is surprising to me, with 5 days until the game you'd think they'd try and sell the next block along.

the generally ageing match going fan is also an issue. lots of older fans don't go to champions league because its too much hassle to deal with public transport and and anxiety inducing with safety concerns.

the gap in the under 30s going to football is going to bite clubs hard - the gen z generation like football and their team but the idea of having this obligation to go to games is not instilled within them like it was folks 40+

i gave up my season ticket in 2016 after 30 years from childhood, and whilst id like to be able to rebuy it (the seat is free still next to my dad but its clearly not being sold by the club as a season ticket again) im not sure i even would. football is too expensive and the only explanation is the ludicrous wages paid to players.

the sooner football has a reset the better - the predatory owners, the american private equity, the mercenary players from all corners of the globe. none of it adds to the fan experience and the clubs now have almost nothing to do with the cities they are located in.

foreign players
foreign manager
foreign owners
foreign fans

If i was the Glazers for example why both buidling a new stadium - just rent Wembley for home games.

We're in SS3, 315 near the back and last night I stayed till the end (we usually go at ~87 mins for the following reasons)... It was a proper fucking ballache standing for at least 10 maybe 15 mins on the steps to get down to the exit after movement ground to a halt.. The last stand in the ground to empty yet people moan about early leavers...

Whoever designed SS3 and the expansion is to blame.. One exit at the bottom of blocks that is shared by two blocks just isn't acceptable THEN those who make it to the concourse have to fight to get through a standard sized double door...

Farcical

What I've now decided to do is to move down the stand after 80 mins and sit in a vacant seat till the whistle...

Piss poor planning ruins the experience for some people

I'd hate to think what might happen if there was an atrocity commited up there.. It'd be carnage (and I'm not talking about the concession stand running out of chips)
