Seat Counters 25/26

You can't understimate the confidence that an early trophy win would bring to our new and young players. Pep said last week that the LC had been crucial in giving momentum to the team for many of our early league titles. Pep will not be here for ever and our Wembley visits will not be as frequent. We need to get there and win it.
Couldn't agree more, spot on.

I cannot get to many games due to not being fit enough due to illness, but if I wanted to look at buying a ticket I would have to pay £35 just to be a member and I refuse to do that. that is one of the reasons why a lot of City fans just cannot buy a ticket for the odd game or 2.

City should never have extended the stadium, and I’m not talking the new north stand extension also the first extension years ago, should’ve left it at the original 47000 approx….it’d be full EVERY TIME…..then build a bigger fanbase especially with all the trophies we’ve won in the modern era….we just simply do not have a fanbase for a 61000 stadium…City tried to run before they could walk….especially when your neighbours are a plastic behemoth like the rags…..Manchester is not a one team City…(I know I know Trafford etc)but you get my point.

The upside is that match day tickets have got a lot cheaper on the face value pages / forums since the membership requirement was introduced this season. If you have the match day membership, it's a buyer's market.

I agree with this but then they would have had the data to say the demand was there and were locking out 8 thousand plus for a lot of games, also you can bet that the recent Chelsea game had the demand easily to fill 61000....but yeah the optics of a full stadium packed every week for every game certainly would have been better

What a load of shite.

Another one hoodwinked by the social media hype that stadiums are always full and have to sell out for every game.

The season we got 84,569 v Stoke! We didn't get that every week did we. Fucking part timers picking and choosing games to go to.

The big games will sell out.

How can you grow a fan base as you put it, if the 47k ground is full every week.

This fucking place sometimes!

I'd rather have a ground big enough for those who want to go rather than 1 too small with fans locked out.

Check how often the Nou camp and the Bernabao are full

1000’s of empty seats at Brighton tonight.

It’s happening more and more at PL grounds.

Dreadful kick off times.
Ticket prices are too high.
Bar a few clubs who are still managing to fill their grounds, the majority of clubs are seeing a reduction in attendances.

Our average league attendance has been near to capacity 54k then 53k since the South Stand was expanded.

Can somebody help this FOC (almost) out?

My partner bought a £35 membership last season and attended Watford H and Real Madrid H

This season I took her to the Bernabeu, but the Ticket Site won't let me buy her a seat for the Galatasaray game

Is this because she hasn't attended enough games (all 3 were bought using her membership)?
Are we seriously saying that somebody who attended Real Madrid Away isn't eligible for Galatasaray at home?

It does look like the Real Madrid away doesn't count as attending 3+ games at the Etihad, that's how I see it anyway

Seen that there’s something like 15k unsold seats at Spurs for the Dortmund game tonight too.

Cheers mate

That's what I feared

So essentially I can't buy the seat next to me, for my 61 year old partner who lives with me, because despite attending numerous games in previous seasons (when I've been allowed to buy extra tickets) and despite attending our previous CL fixture in the Bernabeu, she isn't eligible for a Galatasaray ticket, because her specific membership ID has only been activated for two home games

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

If it was me, I would be calling the ticket office and explain the situation regarding purchasing 2 home tickets and 1 away. I'm sure they could get around the minimum 3 home games, worth a go, does seem ridiculous she's been to Madrid away yet can't get a home ticket Vs Galatasaray

Yeah in theory I agree 100%
It's just the thought of ringing the Ticket Office that fills me with dread.

The really galling part is that she's attended other home games, but always when I've been eligible to buy extra tickets and then emailed the link etc

I've just had a look on the website and it says members can buy 2 tickets so you should be able to buy it from your account

Nonsense. The current expansion may be too much but the initial increase from 47,000 to 55,000 has been shown to be the correct decision for the ten seasons SS3 has been open.
The club isn't little old Manchester City any more and will see empty seats in the new sections as a price worth paying for the chance to stage matches in Euro 2028 and potentially another Thursday League final.
And fewer City 'fans' will have the standard rag excuse "can't get a ticket mate" to fall back on.
