Hate to break it to you but, even if we do beat Galatasary, we will very likely be facing the CL play-offs.

I’d prefer cheaper tickets, particularly for families and kids but the club no doubt look at it like this.

54000 at £10 average - £540,000
44000 at £25 average - £1.1m

They then use FA cup for the token goodwill games. No doubt be back to £10 or £15 for that and full house with a bit of a good publicity- still be Emptyhad though as some people won’t go if only losing a tenner and the jibes start again! Can’t win.

After the play off last year, that will be a hard sell. I hated that Madrid experience surrounded by tourists supporting Madrid. Horrible and not been a CL game since.

If we draw or lose to Galatasaray then n it’s the play off. If we win we are on 16 points and a goal difference of at least 5. The teams who could finish above us are-

Arsenal - guaranteed to be above us
Real - need a point to be above us, last game away at Benfica
Bayern - need a point to be above us, home to Union SG and away to PSV
Spurs - would need to win last game away to Frankfurt
PSG - would need 3 points from home to Newcastle
Sporting - would need 3 points from away to Athletic Club and are on the same GD as us
Atalanta - would need 4 points from home to Athletic Club and away to Union SG
Inter couldn’t catch us
Athletico - would need 5 points (maybe 4) from away to Galatasaray and home to fucking Bodo
Liverpool would need to win (maybe a win and a draw but 3 worse GD than us) v Marseille’s away and home to Carrier bag
Dortmund couldn’t catch us
Newcastle would need to beat both PSV home and PSG away

Some idiots will still take the piss and im not bothered by them, but if we have entire empty tiers it will be more newsworthy and the PR will be terrible. I respect people that aren’t bothered by that but it will annoy me.

Maybe mate, but aren’t most clubs suffering the same at the moment? Pure speculation on my part cos I haven’t looked at the stats for every other club for their home league, league cup, FA Cup and Euro attendances either relative to their stadium capacity or in absolute terms, but that’s the sense I get glancing at the tv now and again.
If so, we should still be concerned but maybe shouldn’t beat ourselves up too much.
Like you say, it’s not down to just one thing.

Athletico drew at Galatasaray, in our hands as regards Athletico as our GD is 1 better but they are at home to Bodo (never underestimate Bodo!)

There's just too much football and people are also feeling the pinch with inflation. Add to that more and more games are being shown live on tv and you can also watch every game on a stream if you know where to look.

This is true but a lot of clubs have a stadium that is too small for them, especially the bigger clubs. United had tickets on general sale for Bournemouth and Newcastle this season, still being sold on the day of the game. However they were less than a hundred in the end and you couldn’t see it from watching the games as it was so few.

Spurs aren’t selling out regularly but they sell their bottom tier out completely and the dark seats towards the top of the top tiers are hard to spot. They had 15,000 empty seats last night but you couldn’t tell watching them.

With ours they seem to be obvious rows of bright blue seats on the bottom tier in plain sight.
