Seat Counters 25/26

Newcastle isn't on general sale for security reasons as the club and police think there's a risk of away fans buying tickets in the home end.

I completely agree with your general point about more games going on general sale.

However for this game, if there's Geordies all over the home end we'll all be pointing fingers at the club. So it's certainly not fair for us to have a go at them when they do put the security measures in place to try and stop this.

The way to get more fans in the ground is a long campaign of cheap tickets for every game, not just the odd one here or there.
I don’t care about Geordies. They won’t be all over the ground. Anyone with a Manchester post code will be fine to attract people. A few Geordies is not a problem. Apart from isolated Incidents which will always happen in a big crowd the only widespread problems were caused by Celtic and their “special” fans.

They’re 2-0, coming to a place they rarely get anything, how many would buy tickets vs City fans or neutrals that fancy it? It’s also not exactly a bitter rivalry, not sure I’d be that arsed if a Geordie went up if they scored next to me, I’d probably have some banter with him.

The fact we’re worried about thousands of Geordies buying our tickets when we’re not, is depressing

I also don't have an issue with the Geordies, and I certainly don't think they're generally the type to cause issues.

We all know that away fans in the home end has been a massive topic recently, with people rightly criticising the club not doing enough to stop it. We therefore can't criticise the club for putting measures in place to try and stop it.

It's only a couple of month ago since the incident vs Leeds, if something like that happened again in such a short space of time the club would be in very deep shit.

I'm one of the biggest critics of the clubs current ticketing policy, however they've done the right thing here.

I don’t know how to crop replies to include the bit I want to reply to, but that paragraph about the memberships scheme is spot on.

It should be where you don’t need one. If you fancy going to a game you shoukd be able to buy a ticket/tickets and that’s that. The stadia would be far more full, oh and at the right price as well.

There were posts on another thread about Liverpool and their tickets. I’m sure it said it’s £30 in the most new stand, regardless if it’s a so called category A game or v Bournemouth. If we had that, instead of the ridiculous prices on offer, plenty more would go.
The club are definitely missing a trick, because there's a new type of football supporter who might prefer City over United, but not enough to stomach our convoluted ticket buying process

It's these occasional/casual supporters who are often belittled but are so critical when it comes to the club selling tickets for the less attractive fixtures, especially when the capacity increases.

The Leeds incident was in corporate where fans have always mixed. It sounded terrible but you can’t segregate in corporate areas where the whole point is for guests to be invited. You always get the odd dickhead at any event. The same with the twats who chuck missiles. I accept we need to take care with Gala though.

343 tickets sold since yesterday at Noon.
Tickets available for Champions League game next week against Galatasary.

Level 0: 2,589

Level 1: 2,075

Level 3: 737

Total: 5,401 tickets available (several areas on the planner have been greyed out i.e. CB Level 3 and South Stand Level 3 - so this figure is only a rough guide).
For Galatasary:

L0: 2,158
L1: 1,985
Total Left: 4,143 (+L3 Seats taken off sale)

As level 3 taken off sale we we can say that since yesterday we've sold 521. Sales slowly picking up.

Pay day for most is next week after Christmas
Correct.

My sister has not been paid for 5/6 weeks, she managed the Exeter game and will be getting her & my niece Newcastle semi-final tickets when she get’s paid Wednesday.

She could not afford Wolves/Galatasary and didnt want to borrow which is understandable

It was in corporate yes, but the club still need to learn from it. Do we need to wait for a fan to get battered in a non corporate area of the stadium before this issue gets taken seriously. Corporate or not, if 2 similar incidents happened in a short period of time the club will rightly find themselves in a whole heap of shit.

One of the biggest recurring complaints fans have had over the last few years has been about away fans being in the home end. We can't then complain when the club starts putting measures in place.

For what it's worth I think this might have been a police decision?

Only my opinion here, I think some of the drop of could be down to ,let's be honest here turgid football were playing at the moment ,don't get me wrong ive said a few times the club have fkd up big time regarding tickets, but ive got be honest I am very bored of the football side ,just been honest, its been like this for nearly 2 years now ,I don't mind not winning but I do want to be entertained

It wasn’t in corporate mate. It was in 93:20 where it’s supposed to be Blues only.

Good points and generally agree, I just think on this occasion it’s needed to open it up.

I agree with your point that the club need to improve security in corporate areas. I don't recall that many serious problems with away fans in home areas though I get as irritated as anyone by the half'/half scarf brigade. I don't trust the police to make sensible decisions around football stadiums. They have been next to useless over the years I have been attending matches especially in Liverpool and the West Midlands.

Yeah was £10 for me and now £17.50, also don't think Salford will being as many this time
I might be wrong but just a regular season ticket holder not on the cup scheme, is it £30 for Salford now?

edit as just seen: £20 for my seat. Should be half that. Probably not going to bother

Can anyone remember prices for Salford last season? Just seen price for fourth round and they really are taking the piss.

Looks like City has ramped up the prices after the no shows against Exeter. That’s very short sighted, especially when the last round was played in between extreme weather warnings.
