Seat Counters 25/26

Most of the new residents of Manchester in recent years follow City. The working class areas have never been more solid for City. There were lots of local families and kids yesterday. It was fantastic to see though the match was poor. The future for our club is fantastic.
Do they? A number of Africans who now live in Manchester have started working where I work in recent years and they all support United, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea… mostly Arsenal.

I don't doubt your experience. But these days I hardly see United fans in Manchester centre at any time. You see some round the hotels when they are at home and that's it. United certainly have a big fanbase in Africa but i think it is an older one. One of my relatives worked in a primary school near the Etihad whch had a huge percentage of African kids and he said virtually all of the kids in the school were City fans. There have always been a few Arsenal and Chelsea fans watching games in the student pubs of course plus a few brave Liverpool ones. I honestly believe we have taken over locally in the last decade. I heard no Manchester accents at the last Old Trafford derby match either. A very small minority of their matchgoing home fans are local as far as I can see.

Yourself, @bluesmith and @M18CTID make it onto my Mount Rushmore of seat counting.

We'll definitely be needing that experience over the next couple of weeks!
Doing yourself a disservice not including yourself in that list of names mate! There’s a few others worthy of mention too - @Wirral Blue8 and @flapjack to name but two.

Anyway, 2 hours to go until sales open. Assuming all blocks are open for sale at 10am, would anyone like to predict roughly how many seats will be available at the start? I’m going for approximately 23,500

Get ready guys
Your challenging seat counting is not far off 125 mins before it gets crazy.
Red bulls and carbs are essential.

That'll be interesting to see, I rekon we might see a few blocks not available to begin with.

Based on this I'll say around 18,000 for sale to begin with.

I'd have thought with it being a cup final as opposed to a semi-final or Community Shield that they'd put every block on sale from the start as I reckon this sells out one way or another. We'll find out soon enough though

I hope they've improved the site when you try and book a seat. I do it on my phone and all is you see are little blue dots, it's really hard to see row and seat nunbers.

10:04

L1: 5,745
L2: 392
L5: 7,103

Total Showing: 13,240

8 blocks in Level 5 not currently showing.
Also unable to access half of the level 2 seats
You got in a couple of minutes before me! My numbers are a little bit more than yours but I just did a full count and didn't refresh at all.

Even with those 8 blocks and some of the Level 2 seats not showing, what's showing as available is far less than you or I expected

Definitely, this is far less than whats gone on sale the past couple of visits and reminds me of that 2nd FA cup final vs the rags, although all the blocks went on sale for that.

I'm also pleased to see that they've split level 5 into Safe Standing and Non-Safe Standing areas

I agree. It's just made it a bit more fiddly for us seat counters though ;)

What's the reasoning for not putting them all on sale from the start?
