Seat Counters 25/26

We do need to do something radical, I agree, as our match going fanbase is dwindling, but it is only £20 for kids behind the goal in this game and there’s still loads left. I think the club will be shocked at the lack of demand for this game.

I think next season they have to forget about revenue completely and try to breathe some life back into the crowds. They have the perfect opportunity.
I'll start with - that wasn't a personal attack Dave and I trust you understood where I was coming from :D.
We seem to be stuck in some sort of "perfect storm" when it comes to a dwindling "core" supporter base - I think alot of clubs are the same.
TV saturation
KO times
Ticket prices
Lack of supporter engagement
For us specifically:
Inadequate transport infrastructure
Co-Op Live - which is a living nightmare when there's a gig around a home game
In Europe - repeatedly playing the same teams over and over
The number on here saying they are no longer on various Cup Schemes should be telling the club a story - they're just not listening and it's really sad.
I wholeheartedly agree with the last paragraph, but it's honestly difficult to see

I didn’t see it as an attack at all John. I agree with all your points. I’d add a couple of issues to your list: lack of new season ticket sales (my lads have pretty much quit going after 10 years of regular attendance) and also lack of atmosphere and the cheesiness of the match day experience.

There will be loads of Madrid fans in the home end either way, if previous games are anything to go by.

We had all the restrictions in place against Galatasary and it was full of their fans
Not so much true Madrid fans when we’ve played them, just an abundance of tourists who want to watch Madrid.

just been having a look back at this thread for last seasons game against Madrid...this is where it was at a similar point
So at this point last year there were 8,500 left, but that includes 1,500 SS3 seats that Madrid returned, which they so far haven't returned this year. This year we have about 10,000 left.

By my calculations, this means we've sold approx 3,000 less this year than last year, and we're a round further into the competition. Worrying projection.

Also worth noting that last year it went all the way down to All Matchday Members no history required. If the club decide not to do this for security reasons, then there's a very real possibility that this might not sell out.

I can't believe I missed those - especially the lack of new season tickets and atmosphere.

You have to include the supporter experience of VAR in grounds too.

If any game v Real Madrid in the CL KO rounds doesn't sell out they is huge issues imo how could this maybe not sell out why dont fans want to come anymore yeah it could of been priced a little better but its not too badly priced imo they way everyone goes on we should be doing £20 a adult and £5 kids which i would love but its just not gonna happen we are cheaper than every other CL club this year we need to get back on board and the club should take note and listen to ST holders we know best and love the club no matter what. I'm gonna email them my thoughts I know they wont take note but I hope 100s of blues email similar thoughts maybe they'll eventually listen

Newcastle have done the very same (up 5%)
These clubs all have agreements on their approach behind closed doors, I’ve been convinced of this for a long time.

I know the City hierarchy are sometimes tone deaf, to the point that it is bordering on stupidity, but surely they cannot think that this is an option after the worst season for empty seats in over 15 years, with traditional Blues leaving cup schemes and giving up season tickets in their droves, and another 7,000 seats to fill.

Prices simply have to be coming down, especially for parents with kids. Get them into the habit of wanting to come, pestering their parents to get them a ticket, to do this they have to be readily available and affordable. £5 junior tickets could be something that would work, adult prices could remain at a similar price for some games, but must come down for lower category and midweek matches. This should be viewed as an investment for the future by the club, rather than a loss maker.

I don't understand why the people who've got difficult drives in, don't use the matchday buses as a park and ride. Or the trains which are running a lot better since Northern Rail got taken over by the government.
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha

No idea why it would be a security issue. Madrid fans aren’t exactly scrappers.

It's not selling out (not to City fans anyway). The club has pissed so many supporters off. They are reaping what they sow!!
