Seat Counters 25/26

Older fans (e.g bluemoon) were bound at attend less over time, especially midweek.
We haven't expanded the fanbase to replace them. I'm half baffled that we just haven't got as many new young fans in gtr MCR as I'd have expected & I'm half baffled how City have made it difficult for those we have got to get to games easily.
That was a problem a decade ago but my perception is that City's fanbase is very much younger than it was. I couldn't prove it, it's just my observation.

I also see many referencing to 18-25 tickets being ring-fenced / promoted in respect to flexi tickets in the North Stand, and for ticket allocations in general. I occasionally move block to attend Cup games, sit with others etc, and the South Stand lower tier has a lot of young fans. Perhaps it depends where you sit.

Over on Talkshite, the red Oasis wannabe reject Goldstein asked the Villa no mark Gabby Abangedawhore about the empty seats and the Villa clown said we have a weak fan base? What a clown he is and he needs to look at Villa's fan base before slagging ours off.

Villa struggle to sell out a stadium about 10,000 less than ours. They get horrendous crowds for mid week games, especially cup fixtures where they sometimes get less than 30k.

The last time Aston Villa had a league attendance higher than City had last night was 1976 - half a century ago !

No real malice in it to be honest, Just stating the obvious

Dont listen to any of the football shows on talksport full of people like Gobby who have never won anything. Bet it was full of rubbish with no context. I am of an age where I wanted English sides to win in Europe but I really hope they lose their final and you smash them on the last day meaning you win the league and Villa miss out on CL to Brighton

Do you think the re-introduction of safe standing has helped with lowering of the average age and has it improved your match atmosphere ?

The last time we played a midweek game there, which if memory serves me correctly, was a frustrating 0-0 draw in 2022.

I've also not missed a game in all comps this season, so if this is supposed to be some sort of "Gotcha" moment, then it's not going to work.

My point stands, the self proclaimed 'best support in the league', brought less supporters than what Stockport took to AFC Wimbledon on a Wednesday night last month.
Fair points

The penny will drop for somebody at City next season when there are 10k empty seats at midweek games.

As many have stated - the shambolic transport situation has led to thousands simply not bothering now. They ain’t fairweather supporters - it’s just become far too difficult for those that need to drive or get longer public transport journeys to midweek games.

Cheaper seats and easier ticket transfer may fill a few more seats - but it won’t solve the transport and parking issues.
Over to our new PM….

From a supporter’s point of view it’s surely ideal for seats to be available if you want to go to a game. Why worry about idiots on social media?
I don’t just worry about idiots on social media, sitting in a half empty atmosphere-less stadium bores the hell out of me at times if I’m being honest. It doesn’t exactly feel like a cauldron of passion when it’s like that. If I’m honest, I can understand why some people don’t go, as it’s not exactly enjoyable for midweek matches, but if we all take the same approach and stay at home then where will it end up?

Also I don’t buy the fact that it all comes down to ticket pricing and policies. Yes, that might be a factor for some, but by the same token we also have some fair weather fans who can’t be arsed going. Apologies to anyone who doesn’t like hearing that, but IMO there’s no doubt that it’s true!

Goldstein never likes it when you mention he’s the reason soccer am died a death

I think it depends where you sit. In the south stand sure, but in other areas the average age must be 50 and above.

Based on my experience of going I don’t see many young adults at premier league home games. It’s more cup and champions league games - probably because the tickets are cheap and easier to get a hold of
