Will file the above along with (amongst many others) Super Cup Final at OT, not selling out Marchester derbys at OT when they were shit and City legend Arthur Albiston's testimonial attendance.

Once the dust is settled on this very special season we all need to be thinking about the Seat Counters End of Season Awards.

Seat Count of the season
Young Seat Counter of the season.
Shit Counter of the season
And of course the big one, the much coveted Seat Counter of the Season Award.

I think we should use this occasion to start a Seat Counter’s Hall of Fame, too.

only by days of course... interesting to see if we were in the bottom three like West Ham whether we would get 60,000. WHU have always had a decent(ish) following - not massive. BUT being in London really helps them fill in gaps. It's like an English football fan going to New York, given the chance we'd watch boxing at Maddison, basketball, NFL.. for the sporting experience. Due to the dollar..London is FULL of Americans, with wads of cash... they take up the slack at every London prem game...it's a massive advantage being in London. My brother in law = 40 yrs ST at Arsenal since Rioch days - sells 3 / 4 games a season and gets about £1,500 back! ok he misses a few big games but £1500 back - easy!! means no gaps when they play say Burnley at home even... Spurs, WHU, Fulham, Palace..all the same...tourism really helps London clubs..We don't quite have the same 'level' of tourism, despite people moaning there's too many at City. Not enough in my opinion as we need 60,000 regular match goers ...somehow! We will get that v Liverpool, the arse, rags, but... Palace at home hmmmm

Rat Boy's debut was a different game a few years later - a UEFA Cup match against Torpedo Moscow in September 1992. Attendance? 19,998

The Wimbledon game in 1989 where only 23,000 or so turned up is an interesting one. If you go on YouTube for the highlights there are United fans on there who reckon the true attendance was as low as 15,000. This was because they apparently counted non-attending season ticket holders in the crowd figure, something that is commonplace these days but wasn't really a thing back then. I was at the Palace home game the day before and if anything, the 33,000 crowd was well on the low side. From memory, the whole stadium was relatively packed apart from the Platt Lane where the Palace fans were but even so, they brought a good few thousand as both of us were going for promotion. I reckon there were more like 36k-37k in the ground at least so with Swales doing his usual and under-estimating our attendance and Edwards over-estimating United's the following evening, the true difference between the 2 attendances was nearer 20,000 than 10,000.

We don’t want the same level of ticket touting that comes with the higher level of tourism.

FWIW, the ban on half and half scarves in 93:20 has seen overseas fans largely replaced with English / Manc fans.

I say this as somebody who helps overseas fans to join in with our chants.

Big London Clubs, huge popuuation and more money.

Our crowds when considering we share a city with the highest attended club is fine.

Add in the amount of games we play too.

Be interesting to see Whams actual attendances next season if they don't challenge.

The teams who have a strong case to say they are better supported than us are the rags, dippers and arse. We are a match for anyone else in the Prem.

Sunday blew the doors off the season card hoarders who attend a few big games and claimed they weren’t blocking families / friends getting tickets together in the ground. That was stunting the growth of our match going support just like the harmful ticket agencies. It’s no surprise that we can sell over 60k of tickets when Blues get the chance to sit with mates and family.
