I can understand why some folks who has sat in that section are upset but I think it's a good thing..on one end you have rowdy away fans driving there team at the etihad and the other side supposedly our side is flat and unenthusiastic and when our team is attacking that end in the final minutes it's hardly inspirational..if we remove the family stand for some real supporters who will be enthusiastic and convert that energy into noise then that would be more important to the team than making sure the same people sit where they have been..

as a matter of fact.there are real supporters in the family stand,
so to make a sweeping statement about the supporters not being 'real',
is basically a load of twaddle.
I should have been more specific ..what I meant by real suporters is folks who are involved in the game from the stands and show the team support And is felt ..right now that doesn't happen the family stand is damaging the atmosphere and I don't think it's very encouraging when city are attacking there end in the 2nd half and see a bunch of people who couldn't be bothered to show the players they are there...most clubs have pretty enthusiastic support on there end at least if you disagree your eitherone of those people or are completely oblivious

Of course if the statistics showed we were a useless second half team you'd be onto something, but as they don't ..... meh!

Have to hold my hand up, sit in the family stand L2 with my 2 lads. Only had a ST since 1977, been to approx 60 away grounds, got over 10,000 LP. Hopefully one day before I die I can aspire to the dissy hights of a "REAL FAN"

"Real Supporters"? You cheeky twat. You really think that people who sit in the family stand are not "real supporters". I'm guessing you're aged between 18 and 22 and think because you stand up and glare at away fans you're a real fan. Well guess what. You're not. The "real" support from the "real supporters" is more often than not an embarrassment and our "real support" gets out sung by a handful of away fans.

The team elect to kick towards the Family Stand every second half. Ever wondered why? Perhaps they think the SS is shit. I'm going to guess that whilst you were having your nappies changed I was touring every shit hole from The Den to Bloomfield Road. That doesn't make me a real fan but for the reason I have outlined it does not make you one either so less of your conceited views please.

Well got my season card through the other day and after 8 seasons of sitting in my seat in block 104, I'm now in 101 after relocation. It looks so wrong on my card though. I'm a victim of the end of row seats cull with my mate.
Ultimately it's not the end of the world but I will miss all the fellow fans that have been around me all that time. Cheers for the good times watching the Blues everyone, you were good company.
Hope I'm not in the rain zone in row M 101 :-/

Good speech, I'll back you up on that one, 40 years a season ticket holder, sit with friends and family in 131 CBS and I hear the family stand singing more than the south stand or those in the corner. Maybe the 1824 group should come to our end......?!

I know that we have a glorious history but the 1824 Group take this to a whole new level. I had a feeling the beautiful game was invented in Gorton lol.

Yes but it's usually 'Old Macdonald Had A Farm' or 'The Wheels on the Bus' they're singing.

Have we got a reduced capacity this season with the expansion works and what not?
See Etihad topic for a post from WorsleyWeb.

Apparently capacity will be marginally down but by March 2015 the capacity will be up on what it was last season as extra rows at the front are released
