Seeing Dead People

My dad swears that he's seen my grandad's late second wife around the house. A bit like yours Ric really but my dad was in bed and he saw her stood in the doorway.

Apparently she just smiled and then disappeared. I believe that when someone dies who you were really close to, they come back every now and then just to 'check up'. It might sound stupid but I do.

First of all Ricster, sorry for your loss.

Me and my mate, (who lost his Ma at 14), have a big interest in this subject. He was once told that wherever he is, his mum has been with him since she passed away. He has seen her in the pub where he lives, has been told by a spiritualist that she is in the same room as him and has heard things from that spiritualist that only his mum, and him, would know. I made a thread about it actually, and it turns out that the person who did his session is the sister in law of someone on here, (apologies, can't remember who it was). She told him his mums date of birth and the exact date she died. The point i'm making is that it's very possible that us who have lost someone are around those loved ones we have lost. I like to think that's the case. Lack of sleep could have a massive part to play in terms of visibly seeing your brother, but if indeed those we have lost are around us, who knows what it takes to be able to physically see them?

Something you probably don't know is Alison says she speaks to Mum, Dad and Ross on a regular basis.

Your Gran used to do the 'tea leaf' readings and was apparently very good and very accurate at it and it was something that others on her side of the family used to do.
I certainly wouldn't know where to start so maybe its only the female side and perhaps Alison has inherited something.

Don't know and the scientists would probably say that lack of sleep has something to do with it.

If its a comfort you hang on to it regardless.

not seen a dead relative or anything of the sort but something spooky happened a few years back when my grandma died.
my sister was really upset and hit a little bit more than me by her passing and she came downstairs to sit with my mum and dad after i went to bed, i heard all the talking and naturally followed her downstairs.
my dad went and got my grandma's purse from the cupboard to give my sister a picture of her.
as he did he took out a receipt from the purse that had the date 21/12/06, a year to the day before my grandma died.
we were all in shock, then he picked out another receipt which was near enough blank.
but then the strangest thing happened, another receipt near enough jumped out the purse as my dad went to close it and the date on it was 03/01/07, a year to the day before my grandmas funeral !
just goes to show that even though they are gone, they are still watching over us and doing little things for us... it certainly cheered me up

If it makes you feel better then great, but surely receipts form just before someone has died would be exactly what you would expect to find in a purse?

sorry for you loss pal.....

last year my wife woke me up around 2am, white as a sheet, and told me she'd just been for a piss(never turns any lights on) and seen a little girl ghost, in a nighty, playing in my daughters room (toilet is right opposite my little girls bedroom and door is always open). She told me to go and have a look but I told her to stop being stupid (shitting myself really) and go back to sleep.

The next day she phoned her sister and told her what happened and her sister said that one of her daughters described the same ghost in her house at night 3 months eariler. Turns out that my mother-in-law's dad had a sister who died when she was 4 years old whilst she was asleep.

My Mum passed away in 1992. and
A couple of years ago my sister told me our Mum had sat on the end of her bed during the night. She put it down to a dream, but when she woke the next morning her husband (my Brother in law) asked why she was sitting on the end of the bed during the night.

Shivers down the spine with that one.

If you see someone, you've seen them. Of course, there can be all sorts of explanations, as the human mind can (and does) play tricks. Sceptics will always say you imagined it, as nothing, absolutely nothing, will convince them there is anything beyond death.

For my part, I can only say that I've seen and heard enough to persuade me there is 'something'. What it is, exactly, I don't know. Call it faith if you like.

It can't be proved one way or another.
