Semi finals (City v Real and A Madrid v Bayern)

playing away first is vital in my oinion.

out of the teams left i would prefer madrid as i think we could play a similar game to how we played against psg where we can sit deep, frustrate and coutner attack them.

atletico for me are the favourites as they look the best team with the least amount of weaknesses.

Would rather avoid Athetico in the semis. They have an intensity and determination that is hard to match. I think Real would be a good match for us.

Agree with you completely! Vital we play away leg first! Of the 4 quarters, only Bayern qualified having the home leg first. Atletico and Real both lost the first leg away yet still progressed. Wonder how many times all quarters ended 3-2 on aggregate as well?! I don't back us not to concede at home in the first leg and I think the importance of not conceding at home would change our whole gameplan too much. Going away from home allows a lot more freedom. You knew for instance that Atletico would be chuffed with a 2-1 loss and when we were 2-1 down it wasn't a huge issue as your task is clear at home... 1-0 and you're through. I would back us to score away from home against any of the sides.

I like Real in the semis more. This season they had been nearly as inconsistent as us and their defence is not that great.

Would like to avoid Bayern as much as possible. Not only for tactical reasons though. Rather due to me not wanting to see either side lose. Always want us to win, but if Pep loses to us, imagine what the press will say next season. If we ever go through the slightest rough patches, some of them might immediately jump out and say Pep is not that good after all. Can't even win against the man he replaced. This would only create undesirable distractions for the club.

And anyone would struggle to break apart the Atleti defence. Not to mention their midfield and attacking force seems coming back to form at the final stage of the season (Tbf, ours is too:). Can't see us win by sitting back against them now. They're very physical, but they aren't exactly allergic to the ball, unlike some teams we face in PL. So it would be a difficult two legs if we drew Atleti.
