Also, if I'd upgraded to a Platinum seasoncard, I would have had no additional benefit for the extra cost. The 190 points would have made no difference to me whatsoever

Maybe Not for this particular cup game, but long term and for some away tickets this year you would benefit, as you would move up the points ladder enabling you to buy away tickets b4 someone with 190 points lower then yourself..

I've 5640, another 190 would take me to 5830. It's a nowhere figure
Next season, going Platinum to get above 6000 could be a consideration, but loyalty points and not being on a cup scheme only adds to to being able to buy away tickets for league matches, which I don't attend
I didn't bother with the FA cup scheme because it's more hassle than it's worth
I take my family to cup matches and once my seat is allocated by the club I can't change it without ringing up. It's a real pain in the arse

Know what your saying m8, but long term those 190 points would come in handy..

I'm on the c/s so don't know the crack about ticket prices, but think ( not sure) that my tickets was capped at £15. Did it cost more to walk up and buy a ticket for thease games.. Have a thought that I was saving money as well as all the other benefits of being on the c/s ...

Totally understand why the club had done this c/s after the embarrassing attendances a few yeas back. And worth signing up to even if you can't garentee the money will be there.. All they can do if they can't take the money is cancel the extra points for being in it..and a lot on here saying thay been to cup games but not on c/s probsbley paid more than if they was on it if the club caped prices for c/s members .

Tbh the best one to be in is the fa cup as there saterday games so no missing out coz can't go Tuesday or wednsday and it is the one we take serous out if the two.., but its worth signing up to if you entend going to the games anyway and trying to get the £15 in there on time ( club lets you know if cant take it and tells you when they will try again so give you notice ) so if your gunna go any way worth trying to get it in..

Separate issue and not aimed at you what so ever

My thought are that without thease mugs like myself willing to buy into thease cup schemes and buy 3/4 shirts a year or buy a city bluemoon plaque, or what ever money making schemes the rip off merchants , or our genarous owners as i like to call them, throw at us, there wouldn't be this argument coz we wouldn't even be in a semi final coz we would be mediocre at best.... Maybe those long standing fans who can't afford a season ticket or cup schemes should thank the new jcl and mugs who throw there hard earned at the club for giving them a chance to get tickets however they see fit for thease big games.. Just my opinion like

I found the points criteria from 2011, and it wasn't how i remembered it to be!

I'm on the scheme, and had a season ticket for 20 years (pay on the gate before that), not missed a home cup match in that time either, but have only been on the cup schemes the past 3 seasons. And my points are about 7500. So how does someones 6 year old lad also have over 7000 points?! Unless they go to aways i don't see how they've caught me up..

Every game mate, home n away, cups n league, cup schemes and platinum, helps that his dad has 12,000 points and wants his son to follow in his devotion footsteps!

was it like this last time? that we can only purchase tickets for ourselves not for a mate?

bit crappy if you ask me, still gonna go tho!

ah right aways as well, makes sense!

Out of interest how many points does a full season of aways add on then, based on last season or whichever full season people can think of? Just wondering how quick people can overtake me!! ;) I'm platinum too btw, but will have to prob drop that extra cost next season! :(

The Cup Scheme is always going to divide opinion..A bit like the Mancini thread.

I have always joined because of:-

a-not having to queue or phone
b-having my seat sorted for me
c-cheaper seats up to the quarter finals.

Now I have only got 7250 pts so can get my ticket on Tuesday. My son 12 and only has 2500 pts but not on the scheme. I am pleased the club have allowed me to purchase his ticket on Tuesday regardless of his points but it is costing me £2.50 extra per ticket for the privelage as I can't do it online.
Loyalty isn't about who's in the cup scheme IMO. Many have 10000 plus points who don't join yet go to many more aways than myself etc.
I am pleased the club have acknowledged me having been in the scheme however the fans who go away week in week out not in the cup schemes surely should be rewarded. They go to more games than me away yet I get dibs first. This isn't right IMO

Are they not reworded by getting first dibs on big away games like the derby for instance??

Also think those on the big points would be on the cup scheem regardless to enable them to get those kind of points in the 1st place... And if can afforded to go to the away games to build them points would afford to be laying out for the cheep cup schemes tickets..

Not heared of any genuin big points holder not on the C/s other then principle (not for financial reasons ) as thease guys have helped accumulated there points by being on thease c/s
Guessing there will be some but not a lot..,

if your mate is a season card holder and only missed two games at home in 18 years he would have nearly double 4000 points
you are fibbing flb

The current loyalty point scheme started when we moved into CoMS
I've been a seasoncard holder since the start, have been on various cup schemes, last year was a Platinum member, this season gold. I've only missed a handful of home matches, league cup, friendlies and Europa league
I've not travelled to any away fixtures with the exception of The FA Cup semi and Final
My loyalty points stand at 5650

I reckon if I'd taken in every home match, my points would stand at no more than 5800

I understand the club's criteria for selling tickets, but think it would've been better staggering the non Cup schemers to
Over 6000 points first and then going down by 500 points a day, to save all the aggro
However, I think it's a ploy to make things difficult for non cup schemers, so that next season they really consider being a Cup Scheme members

Points per game were counted from Norwich Away in Aug 2001 ten points per away game and home cup even though the scheme started in 2003.

When the points system started in 2003 5 years plus ST holders got 1,500 + 10 points per game for the past 2 seasons, and when we only got 900/1000 tickets for Groclin away the starting points were 2000.

I don't think it's fair that someone on the cup scheme with say 7000 points can buy tickets for 2 kids who aren't on the cup scheme with say 2000 points ahead of someone like myself who is on the cup scheme and has 5700 points

I'd be more then happy to give my two junior tickets i get on monday, up to anybody with more points then them who genuinely can't get them becose of them missing out on points criteria.. That's how much confidence I have that club have got this bang on.. Won't be a problem getting in on junior tickets as security there is piss pore. There won't be any problems for those with s/t getting a ticket

What would you recommend ? My two boys sit on there own ?

Guys, travelling down from Glasgow with my two kids for semi final. Considering all options at moment - including driving to Manchester and getting coach from there. I have an option to get flights to stansted, but concerned about travel back in time with it being a 4.00 ko. Flight is at 21
.45 - any advice on best way to get to airport?
