Sensible Poster's

Please come back, we've been over run here!

Anyone with a sensible point of view or any input into how the rest of our season will transpire, this is the thread for you......

Im still here, i just dont post that much because its useless trying to argue whats happening to city isnt a crisis and its the best we have had, well ,ever.

Im happy enjoying supporting the richest club in the world with the brightest future, bluemoon will only make you feel suicidal.

I admit to being completely perplexed as to how we can possibly be so crap.

You would have thought that if you bought all of Chelsea's players, the coaching staff and Ancelloti and brought them all to City then top flight performance at City would be guaranteed.

But you know what, genuinely, I am beginning to think that even that would not work. We seem to be able to get even proven performers to play shite and I just can't figure out how or why we manage it.

I really hope we will come out of this bad spell, get our act together and start winning again, so we can grab 4th spot. But honestly, I have more or less given up on that now. I hope otherwise, but I am now expecting 6th or 7th.

Finishing behind Liverpool is inevitable and probably Spurs and Villa as well. God help me if Everton overtake us. It's so f***ing depressing.

I actually feel better today as a city fan than I have done all season. The reason for feeling better, is I have finally let go off my unrealistic expectations for this season and I remember that as a football fan who was raised to stick by my team thick and thin, I have no more right to experience my club being successful than any other football fan.

Money alone cannot buy success. We need strength and character and that can only come with time.

Our time will come but as the great Morrissey once sang: "you just haven't earned it yet baby"

Thats exactly how i feel, i had got suckered in by some of the 'fans' on here that think we have a divine right to win every game we play, but then said to myself 'woah, woah calm down, we are NOT a top 4 standard team, we are a work in progress, and its going along nicely'.

no one is going to be happy at the way the last month or so has gone but if we get thet 4th spot i think it would/should all be forgotten.
we'll see at the bridge on saturday i suppose, i'm not expecting a lot down there but i'll be looking more at how we play and what desire there is. i'd take a point now but obviously 3 would be a bonus.......and might shut a few up for a week. ;)

In an attempt to join in the spirit of the OP, here's my 'sensible' take on the rest of the season...

I'm not sure we've got enough under the bonnet to power our way into the NewTopFour. I'm not underestimating the other teams in there, because the players and management of Villa, Spurs, and L'pool have just as much ambition (if not finances) as we have. Our away form is predictably poor, and this is where we are vulnerable.
Plus, if we don't show more attacking flair, dreary draws are likely, if not more defeats.

Once players get onto big money, I believe lots of motivation disappears. Anyone who has some familiarity with 'Maslow's hierarchy of needs' will get the picture. Big money sometimes cancels out other needs or desires ( Phew ! that's a bit mind-stretching for this time of day)

Unless there's a sudden improvement, I expect the teams around us will find something extra under their bonnets and overtake us on the final lap leaving us with some soul searching and re-evaluation.

We'll still finish in the top six or seven - but what good's that these days ? The owner hasn't bought us just to be bit-part players. I think there will be more pruning in summer.

TBH I´m not that arsed about the cup coz as with the CC the draws conspired to fook us royally AND Tevez absence completely unforeseen - so a case of "it was meant to be" - this time! However the gods may begin to smile on us some time soon and when they do we´ll have our day. Still not sure about Mancio tbh but with CT back (hopefully!) we can give it a good go till the end without distractions and see where we are
Just fookin hate going out to those clog merchants led by that Fergie cocksucking little prick - Wembley 99 forever you fookin turd!

i wish i had answers i really do, we KNOW they are great players, weve seen it.. but i cant for the life of me wonder when im looking at someone earning 100k plus a week is sauntering around the field, wheres the urgency? if someone offered me 1k a week to run round i wouldnt stop. i dont know if its mancinis way or they just picking up the money, but you put that shirt on you better know what it means, to us its everything,i want it to be everything to them too.. look at tevez? does that guy ever stop running? no, he wants to do the right thing but he needs help.. stoke? i mean come on, stoke, they have a throw in taker end of, not sour grapes by any means we got what we deserved but we should have beaten them, far superior squad, fuller sidibe? please i ask you..i dont know if any of the players read this or cook or owners or what.. but if you do and you read the posts on here you will see a lot of unhappy people. im not climbing on the mancini out wagon that only makes things worse.. but something isnt right.. now sort it out, you sweat blood for that shirt and wed back you no matter what the result.. but dont swagger and saunter around like it doesnt matter because to US FANS? it matters

here it goes.... we were right to sack hughes because we were wasting our season (again) and we needed a change. since mancini has come in we had a run of decent results and now we have started playing really negative football and had some poor results. some of the fans have been nothing short of discraceful during this period. we need to start picking up positive results quickly but i fully expect to lose to chelsea this weekend so without doubt we will be hearing more from this negative morons very soon. yes we lost to stoke, just like we did under hughes. yes we are playing shit, just like we did under hughes. but we have a game in hand and we are in touch with the top 4. its all in our hands. lets be positive and get in the top 4.
