Fantastic day. Morley's goal (2nd) was my favourite - it wasn't technically the greatest goal you will ever see but we hadn't finished celebrating the first, so the noise afterwards was as loud as I can remember it at Maine Road.

always thought this about that second goal.probably the best celebration ive ever had..the noise was incredible .we didn,t expect the first goal, so the second was just unbelievable..god i miss the kippax.....will never forget the disbelief and the biggest ever roar after that goal..brilliant moment.brilliant day.

The second goal almost saw me off!
I hadn't really caught my breath back from the first goal and off we went celebrating again...... by the time we'd finished I was well and truely out of breath.
At half time I just sat on the terrace and took a break! Don't really recall the 2nd half apart from the goals - I remember half way through thinking to myself that i wasn't concentrating on the game at all and didn't remember too much play from the 2nd half - goals apart.....
The previous time we had beaten them was on my 18th birthday 1-0 (Steve Mackenzie) 21st Feb 1981

Had to go to the Main stand for this game instead of the Kippax. Usually pretty grim atmosphere the Main stand but even it was rocking for this game. My favourite goal.............................all five of them. Oh happy, happy day.

I was on holiday in Greece (I know, poor planning) . In the days before Sky, Internet, mobile phones, you had to wait until the following day for news.
I approached a newspaper stand the following day and saw the headline Maine Rd Massacre! I feared the worst but went daft with disbelief and joy. Some other bloke laughed and just said" City fan?"
