He'd looked like he'd been trying too hard recently and it had been playing on his mind. He was snatching at things and overdoing it. In the end, when the moment came it was typical Sergio. Rapier-like into the box and a lethal finish, he didn't need to try hard or over think it, he just did what he does!

What a fantastic achievement.

I would have loved to have been present when you finally broke Eric's record, but it wasn’t to be. However, I was at Etihad when you made your City début and you scored your first two, as well as the last one of that first season, the penalty, with which you equalled the record and many of the others along the way.

It has been a privilege to watch you playing and scoring for City over the last six and a bit seasons and I hope you are here and scoring for many more yet.
 
When it went in, I was choking up. What a man. He came to city to build a dynasty, and he has single handedly dragged us up so many times. What a man. The greatest.

This is the best part of him breaking the record in my opinion. He'll be going in to the Arsenal game on cloud nine but more importantly with a massive weight lifted off his shoulders which has been holding him back recently. I think he'll go on to break all kinds of other records now.
