Will come back and bag a hatrick against Liverpool
Lol. There really is something BTW those 2Plus he hates David Luiz. I fail to see a problem.
Maybe 7 out of 10. I reckon Silva and DeBryune will steal 1 or 2 votes. Buts that's neither here nor there :)Exactly - just ask any of our opposition who they would like to be out of our side and I reckon 10 out of 10 would say Sergio. Says it all.
Stats are kind of my thing. I enjoy it because it gives you an unbiased look and gives a deeper insight to the game. Obviously some stats can be skewed to fit whatever narrative you're trying to make at the time but certain results can't be ignored after a large sample size. Team results are almost completely unbiased if you have a large sample. You've probably heard the stat about our points per game being nearly identical with and without Kun. I decided to take a deeper look at it for the fun of it. It's blasphemous and also almost CRAZY to think we're a better side without Aguero but the sample is size is big enough now that you can't completely dismiss it. The results date from the 12/13 season to now. I'm not going to bog this post down with the yearly results but PM me if you want them. Also, this post isn't an agenda against kun it was just me killing some time during work.
1) He's missed 42/170 games (note: over a full seasons worth). We average 2.2 points per game with him out. 2.0 PPG in the 128 games with him in.
2) It doesn't sound like a big deal but that's almost a 6 point differential spread out over the course of a season. Admittedly this statistic is good in theory but not good in practice.
3) 4 out of the 5 years we've averaged more per game with him OUT than with him in for each individual season (4 in a row now).
4) Kun's missed 3 or matches consecutively 6 times. We've averaged 2.3 PPG (29 games) during that stretch. 3 of those 6 times were for 5 or more games and we went 14w 3D 1L (2.5 ppg)!
5) Since the 4-3-3 switch (2.1 without, 1.9 with).
Make it of it what you will. You can scoff at it all you want but the results say we're better off without Kun than with him. That's a full seasons worth of undeniable results and almost 25% of the games. How is this possible with a top 5 striker in world football?
1) He's doesn't create chances (18 assists in 170, or 1 in 9+).
2) He had 0 defensive work rate until this year.
3) I don't think he's ideal in our 4-3-3 interchangeable front 3 system.
4) He misses extended periods of time perennially.
5) There's the money aspect as well (minor point).
I'm not suggesting we sell Kun at all but there's a case to be made that we'd be better off if we did. I'm interested to see what you guys make out this. Cheers.
