Sergio Aguero - 2016/17 performances

Aubameyang is quality but would be shit in our team if we continue to play as is. We attack too slow for his type of striker. He has all the pace in the world which is ducking useless if he doesnt receive the ball until we're 20 yards from goal and the defence is set. What we need is big striker like lewandowski who can get on crosses. In fact what we really need is to attack quicker with fewer touches and more one time passes. Then aguero will return.

So you can't see De Bruyne slotting in Aubameyang time and time again. I can & he has scary pace too.

They dont speak english properly, not even on City TV and its common knowledge despite what people would have you believe that they speak spanish for the most part around the club and in the dressing room still (when they do speak English occassionly it is broken or limited to a simple hello) . Also do you want me to tell you why he slips over a lot because of how he has his boots prepared???

Give me Fernandinho any day of the week despite his mistermeaners recently he is a guy who made a monster effort to learn the language properly and show just how committed he is.
When we had a lot of english players they spoke to them in english,i think milner, barry and joe would know better than us,now most speak spainish so of course they will revert to that,i forget which player it was that said pep speaks to them in english when training
You seem very keen to ship him it out and so i'll leave you to it

I think it boils down to frustration as to what we have witnessed this season. He actually needs a foil and a partner up top that he can strike a relationship with in terms of moving the defence. As we have seen this year defences will sit deep and smother him - hence the frustration.

I don't see him leaving but we need someone to be up there as a world class striker that can either help or dis-lodge him from being a permanent starter every game, which will bring back the hunger and competition for a place which I believe he is lacking. It is no good people saying that we cant have 2 world class strikers in the squad, we can and I think it will happen and this summer it will be Pep's idea of a striker that he knows can do what he asks of him.

Kelechi will hopefully one day be there, but he is not yet there in terms of competing against Sergio

It wasn't a popular view when I said we should get rid but seems to be the majority view now or close to it.

We, as a club, need to learn that brutal 'out the door' approach as a player comes to the end of his cycle with us. The problem is, our scouting team are shit and they probably couldn't identify a decent striker if he banged 60 goals in a season and had every Tom, dick and harry chasing his signature.

Great teams keep their squad competitive and hungry this way. We just give our stars a cushty contract into their thirties and sign bollocks to compete with them.

I'd love nothing more than Sergio to get his mojo back, but we need to start going places and if he's not cutting it by May, we need reinforcements or replacements.

Aguero has done it all and seen it all in this country everyone lauds him as world class and he has nothing to prove , really don't think Pep fancies him because he does'nt work hard enough for the team. When he was dropped for the Burnley game he came on in the 2nd half and played like his arse was on fire , he never stopped running then fast forward a couple of weeks in the starting line-up against Neverton and he did'nt break into a sweat all afternoon.
He will always be a legend at this club , but the hunger is'nt there , and it is down to the manager to re-ignite the passion . Over to you Pep

Agreed with all of the above. Six years at a club nowadays is uncommon. He probably needs a new challenge to motivate him now. He probably can see that he (likely) won't achieve greater heights within the next 18-30 months if he were to stay.

We're got too much of a Spanish influence .... there I said it. Just because it worked in La LIga doesn't mean it's suited to the PL. It could be a very expensive experiment.

We won a League and Cup double with Spanish CEO, DoF, 4 Spanish players, 8 players signed from La Liga and a manager whose first language is Spanish and made his name in La Liga.

So enlighten us on which part isn't suited to the league?

Fernandinho spoke 4 languages fluently (Portuguese, Italian, Russian and Spanish) before he joined us and had good English already - Here's an interview of him 12 days after signing for us:

And he didn't have lessons either, he told the club he didn't need them and he'd just pick the rest of the language up through being around it, which he did.

He's got a special talent for learning languages, holding everyone to that standard is unrealistic.
