Sergio Aguero - 2016/17 performances

I thought he played very well yesterday apart from a couple of runs down blind alleys.

I think we will see less of that, but at the moment I don't think in his head he quite believes he isn't the player he once was, so will continue to try despite defenders now getting a foothold easily on it.

Once he fully adapts to his capabilities now, he will use his other skill sets more openly, such as passing and dragging players out.

He has without a doubt lost that yard of pace.

It doesnt go down well on here for obvious reasons that i can entirely understand but this summer is the right time to cash in and move the squad forwards.

He has been and is a magnificent player.

I'm not really into having favourite players these days but Sergio falls into the Bell, Lee, Summerbee, Marsh (yes!) bracket. I don't want to see him play for another European club and I would be apoplectic if he was allowed to go to an English club. However, there is a strong case for selling him to, say, Real Madrid if they offer big money and we use the cash wisely because we can end up with a better team / squad.

I do think it's important to point out that Aguero has scored more in all competitions this season than any other Premier League player. More than Dybala, Neymar, Benzema, Ronaldo(!) and as many as Higuain. But he's played fewer minutes than (I think) any of them. He gets a goal every 104 minutes, which assuming each game averages about 95 minutes with injury time, is about a goal every 1.1 games he plays, or 0.6 goals per City game this season.

He is arguably the best in the business.

6 League games remaining, plus hopefully 2 FA Cup appearances.
Can he become our All Time Leading Goalscorer before the end of the season?

He’ll probably just fail, but there’s a few fixtures against teams with nothing to play for.
