Fairly balanced discussion on the incident from MOTD2. No surprise Danny Murphy is reasonable.

If the derby wasn't the next game, they'd be no action taken against this. As it is, he'll get a ban. The power of social media and the weak mentality of the people in charge will be displayed.

He swung an arm and hit him in the throat with his wrist. Stupid thing to do really. Could go either way but I wouldnt be surprised if they ban him.

He didn't swing anything

I was at the game and seconds before the player was trying to strangle kun with his right arm so he clearly made an attempt to 'shrug' off the arm....like I said, nothing in it and shouldn't be a ban.

The likes of Savage etc. Blowing it well, out of proportion need to STFU, let those who don't have connections to UTD, make intelligent and balanced comments.
As those on MoTD said, it would be embarrassing for Mariner if he says he didn't see it, as pictures clearly show he was looking at the challenge at the time, hopefully the FA won't be so knee-jerk and ready to ban in the heat of the moment like that idiot Savage

When you use enough hyperbole you can say that Bardsley did a vile leg breaking 2 footed lunge last week that could have killed Silva. The ref didn't see it so 3 game ban.

Funny how noone called for that.

I think it's very hard not have a slightly biased view on the elbow incident!
Whilst I am hopeful he'll swerve a ban and think there is enough of a grey area for it not warrant one either, I do know if that were a United player that had done that, I'd be full on screaming for him to be banned for it!

The ref let West Ham get away with murder in the second half, it was like WWF out there. The fact of the matter is that he was 3 yards away from the incident, was looking in that direction, and gave nothing. So he is either blind as fuck or saw the incident and decided it didn't even warrant a strong talking to let alone a card....but of course he didn't have the benefit of slow motion replay or freeze frame photography.

Like I said, absolutely nothing in it.

Om MOTD they said the ref was right in front of the incident, we can only hope he mentions it in his report as a 50/50.
