Aren't the matches next week World Cup qualifiers?Wasn't there talk of him retiring from International football? Maybe this is a 'gentleman's agreement' that he won't play meaningless friendlies?

There's no denying Aguero has some edge to his game and there was no good intent involved but his elbow didn't touch Reid's head. Whether Sergio's intent was evil or a case of petulance, frustration or whether Sergio thought or just reacted or pulled his punch etc is, IMO, open to question.
He limped off.
Just watched tunnel cam and he walks down the tunnel and swaps shirts at the end looks ok. Certainly no ice pack or signs of any treatment. He limped off.
I'm never going to defend someone who deliberately uses their elbows for whatever reason. But what may save him to some degree is that his elbow didn't touch Reid's head as you say, even though he went down clutching his face. Fernandinho got a yellow for a worse elbow on Costa as did Fellaini for a totally blatant one on Zabaleta. So even if the ref says he didn't see it he could still ay "..but if I had, I'd have only given a yellow card". In which case there would be no ban. There's no denying Aguero has some edge to his game and there was no good intent involved but his elbow didn't touch Reid's head. He`s injured mate. Now out of the Argentina game with a calf injury. He always looks stiff when he's walking down the tunnel at FT, even when he's 100%.
