Sergio Aguero announces his retirement | A thread to pay tribute

So so sad

Sergio Aguero: "If I try to play football now, I run out of breath. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be able to sprint again. I just feel like my heart doesn't work properly..." @Twitch

Sergio Aguero: “Barcelona's doctor told me that I was lucky. I could easily have had a heart attack. We still don't know what happened to me and why..."

It's a long process where I have to see what I had. Perhaps COVID, the vaccine, I don’t know”, he explained

It is a slightly strange one. Never surfaced when he was playing for us. You would have to think we would have found something if there was anything congenital.

From what he is saying he still hasn't been told/they don't know why this has happened but it is serious enough for him to retire. Arrhythmias can be congenital or happen later, and I understand they can be temporary is some cases. He is clearly suffering emotionally poor lad. Most heart attack victims get some help with that, the emotional trauma can take some time to get over.

He's signed a deal with ESPN and Disney+ for both football and non-football related content

If it’s English he’s going to speak, then he’ll need to have taken some pretty intense lessons. Always felt he was abit lazy around that (and a little better at it than he let on).
No, not English. It's ESPN Argentina -- they've got the rights to the PL and CL; he'll be streaming live reactions to games, making appearances for the World Cup, etc. Think the Disney+ element is just related to his esports team from what I gather
