Sergio Aguero leaves City after 10 years

I just have to express my appreciation for the greatest goalscorer that we may well ever see playing for our club. Right from the very first game I think anyone who was at his debut v Swansea could see we had a great player on our hands.

His stats against the big 6 is second to none and of course he has scored so many game changing and important goals that it’s hard from me to think any player (in goal scoring terms) will ever eclipse what he means to us.

It’s not just that he is the record scorer and the scorer of ‘that’ goal it’s the fact he goes along with the likes of D Silva, Kompany, Zabaleta, Fernandinho and De Bruyne in that his personality, respect for City and will to win means he’s in that very select elite group of players that have played for us since the takeover.

We have been truly blessed to have him and to quote KK “I would love it!” if he could win the same amount of trophies as the number of his shirt when he first started playing for us.

16 trophies in 10 years with the final one being that elusive Champions League really would cement his place with the very best (not that he has treated that way in the past) the Premier League era has ever seen.
 
Another legend leaving. What a star he’s been. Fortunate enough to be there today and will be singing loud and proud all throughout my time in the stadium. I’m not sure we will see anything like Sergio again for a long time. We will have great strikers but he will be the one I remember and will always be that first great one I’ve personally witnessed.
That Puma video is a tear jerker, don’t watch it if you’re feeling emotionally unstable. I thought I was ok until I watched that ;-)
 
Best striker this league has ever seen. Absolutely superb, wonderful talent and a great lad and we were very lucky to have him for ten years.

He‘s transformed us into a winning machine, probably more influential than any other player in our history.

Thanks Kun, you fucking legend. And especially for 93:20.
 
Man today will be tough.

I’ve always taken credit for us signing him, and only half joking lol.

I pestered Zab on Twitter while on international duty to tap him up and loads of blues joined my crusade.

We signed him and I was in the team hotel that weekend for the Dublin Super Cup and Aguero walked right past me. I was gobsmacked. Literally jaw dropped as I couldn’t believe we’d nabbed him.

We were stacked. Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko and Kun. As good as they all were, within a season it was clear he was the king.

I was lucky enough to be at the ground for his first hat trick and about 8 games that season. He just scored for fun.

I never expected him to stay more than 3 years. Tevez left. Balotelli left. Dzeko left. Negredo came and left. But Aguero knew.

Maradona owned Italy.

Messi owned Spain.

Aguero owned England.

We are so lucky to have witnessed this.
 
Out of nowhere, feeling a sudden emptiness about life after today.
