He had covid earlier in the year and it is possible that he suffered complications, although he would have had an extensive medical before joining Barca, including an exercise test.This should have detected any underlying cardiac issues.
If he has recently had a second dose of the mRNA vaccine, then there is a possibility that he has developed myocarditis as a result. Latest research out of Israel suggest a risk of 1 in 6600 of myocarditis in young males following the second jab.
There is no point speculating further and we need to wait to see what his medical team say. In the meantime, let's hope that he fully recovers. Most post vaccine myocarditis is considered mild.

A higher number of sportspeople appear to have suffered similar effects in the last 6 months or so than would normally be the case. I think that vaccines have to be considered as a potential link even if this is proven down the line not to be the case. For now it must remain a possible explanation.
