Sergio Romero (GK) & Alessio Cerci (MF) & Stefan Savic (CB)

If cerci is cover for AJ it means Sanchez is more the middle, so there will be no Mata Sneijder Nasri Modric Fab or Pastore
Hopefully there will be no Cerci. That way we may look at getting a starter ahead of AJ, rather than a backup to AJ.

Agreed, dare I say it without 1000 pages of debate, but he is at best an impact sub at the mo!

Posts: 143 Talked to my balkan friend again. The deal is done, the price is seven million euro.
Savic is three matches short on the national side for the deal to go through at the moment.
He really talks this player up, no doubt he will become a better player than Vidic.
Both Rome and Porto have offered more money, but the player has decided to sign for City.
from the where are we up to thread

There has to be more Zabba's and Kompany's out there. Who honestly thought they would turn out to be the mainstays of the team when it was reported we were signing them. There again - it is the start of silly season!

Can't see us signing a 24 year old as backup, especially a full international. Could cause all sorts of friction.

Most backup keepers are already 34+ or are at the oldest late 20's and have pretty much given up being first team choice. I'd be surprised if we signed someone different to those "rules".

A GK that would surely feel even more aggrieved than Given at playing second fiddle?

Never heard of Cerci to be honest, as for Savic, the idea of signing a highly-rated young centre-back from the Serbian league excites me, just based on precedent of that happening in England. He seems to be the one we're most strongly linked with too.

romero - yes, young international goalkeeper, keeps zaba and tevez happy with a fellow countryman (plus he will play in the cups etc.)

cerci - dont know much about him, looks pacy, can play both wings, young.

savic - again dont know much about but if he can be as good as others are saying im all for it...

id take all 3 here, given seems to not know wot he wants to do, we need wingers! and savic to replace boateng

EDIT: for all the he wont come cos hes argi number 1... we can offer him champions leaue football, games in the cups etc. given wants to play number 1 sumwhere and hes the irish number 1... id prefer this lad hes younger and will offer better competition for joe (dont trust givens shoulder)
