Yes, unfortunately Roma have won.

I`m actually glad Roma won for 2 reasons. I follow 2 teams in Italy, Hellas Verona and Torino. The result gives Hellas Verona a reprieve until the play off next week. And it also sticks Roma in the Europa with the Bindippers.

The season goes on and hopefully I`ll get to watch the play off next week in Dalaman Airport.

Stupid question but aren’t Verona automatically down?

Not a stupid question at all. They introduced a new rule that would see first and seventeenth contested in a one-off playoff at a neutral venue if teams were tied on points. It matters not that Spezia have a superior goal difference, nor does it matter that they took 4 points in the head-to-head fixtures between the sides. Adds a little extra thrill to things, I suppose, but when other placings and monies might be divided on superior goal difference, applying a different rule at the top and bottom seems, to me, illogical.
