mourinho's legacy

I'd rather keep Mancini too but this is a ridiculous post. Would you honestly turn down winning the treble in case the next manager finds it difficult to take the squad forwards?

football its not just win things , most times win or lose is just a matter of luck , build the future its what keep you at the top. mourinho's never build anything in his career.
Whats that saying: "the more I practice the luckier I get"
Isnt this is the age of science?

that saying is absolutely right. unfortunally football is not a science and there are many factors that are not under control. an injury , a referee's mistake , a long range shot can means the difference from win and lose , expecially in short tournments like the cups

I accept there are random elements that can't be controlled, Chelsea winning last years CL perfectly illustrates what you describe.
However with the correct preparation and scientific attention to every detail the "luck element" should be minimized.

cmon mate.... "scientific attention" will never save you from a keeper letting a football go trough his legs or a striker wasting an absolute sitter , and this is the beauty of football.

Hamsik of Napoli has been robbed at gunpoint after the game with Sampdoria last night.
Thats the 3rd time he has been robbed since coming to Napoli in 2007.
Cavani lives in a gated community cos he has been robbed too.
Bloody hell you would think that with the majority of people in Napoli including the mafia , Camorra etc supporting Napoli the players would be safe,but it seems not.
Seen the movie Gomorrah and the Camorra have Napoli flags etc at their headquarters.

I understand your point, unexpected things can frustrate the best prepared team.
However the kind of thing I am talking about is:
the "inconsistent keeper" should have the very best goalkeeping coaches to constantly improve his performance;
the players, (maybe a striker lacking confidence?), should have access to sports psychology consultants, if required;
the best training facilities should be available, (not overlooked!);
Set pieces should be perfected, (like Bale, Beckham and Baines).

Some clubs use the latest equipment, technology and scientific insight to gain any edge to be the best.
The more thoroughly and professionally you prepare, the less chance "bad luck" may see you fail.

Berlusconi: "The Balotelli negotiations? Everything I said about Balotelli was just a tactic to make sure that his price didn't go up."
