Serie B, admittedly, but Sampdoria have appointed Pirlo as their new manager. Interesting move by the new owners and just hope they can follow Genoa’s lead and get back up at the first attempt.

Football players in Italy will be banned from wearing No. 88 as part of an initiative combating antisemitism, it was announced on Tuesday.

The No. 88 is a numerical code for "Heil Hitler"; H is the eighth letter of the alphabet.
 
Season starts today, with the champions Napoli traveling to newly promoted Frosinone and Genoa (back in the big time) hosting Fiorentina. No idea who will win the title this year, but it should be fairly competitive.
