Serie A Thread | 2024/25

Although he’s ex rag I don’t think of him as one. McTominay is a fucking god out there. I watched a clip of his goal and as the algorithms go, it’s prompted more clips of that weekend.

An ex rag being successful in city (ish) blue.

Sampdoria fall from Grace all but complete, relegated from Serie B tonight.
Quite sad imo, had some wonderful players didn't they.
And a stay from execution, into the relegation play offs after Brescia got demoted for financial irregularities.
One last chance !

Some pay deal.
Its just crazy money

Per Gazzetta dello Sport, Inzaghi has accepted a lucrative contract proposal from Al-Hilal.

Basically, he is going to cash in for a few years and then come back to Europe and continue to be paid well at a major club.

Hard to blame him, to be honest. Round about half a million a week. No income tax, yeah? Where do I sign up?

I'm assuming Sampdoria will be awarded the game after crowd trouble had the match suspended.
Seats being flung all over the place.

And it looks like survival for Sampdoria , despite the circumstances!. Match abandoned on 65 mins, crowd trouble,Samp 4-0 up on aggregate

Gutted Venezia got relegated. Had a great trip at the start of the season.
Same here. I went to Venezia v Genoa in September, I got lucky as it turned out to be Venezia's first home win in Serie A in 20+ years. Brilliant atmosphere in the stands, random old men crying and hugging me at the end. Superb day from start to finish - from exiting Venice train station straight on to the canal, the views from the vaporetto boat on the way to the game, the old school ground with scaffold seating, singing, flares and fireworks on the boat on the way back to the train station.

Also happy that Sampdoria stayed up last night. I went to the Samp v Salernitana league game in early May which Samp won 1-0 to have a chance of staying up. Another brilliant atmosphere - the tension in the last 30 minutes was unreal - the guy sat next to me couldn't even look at the pitch.
