Serious question...

The Mrs just asked me am I watching motd, am I fuck was my reply with a glare. England beaten by the fucking Welsh didn't help her.

Go to the gym or do anything useful thing and you will be ok with it.

If you sit and watch TV, the pain will last until the next game.

I'm terrible, I try making a conscious effort to put a smile on my face and try telling myself how ridiculous it is to be arsed about a game where a ball is kicked around a park whilst I have my beautiful kids sat in front of me. I laughed it off today and took the kids out all afternoon and had great pleasure seeing them happy. Now they are in bed and have time to reflect on the result I have that sick feeling again, especially how frustrating it is supporting us. We have it all going for us but we never make it easy for ourselves. West Ham 3 points and a draw today was should have been the minimum whilst the other teams have the pressure but oh no City have to shoot themselves in the foot once again. Juventus I was working in Swindon and took half a day off only for it to take me 11 and a half hours to get there and back to watch another lacklustre performance in Europe and put me in a foul mood all week.
I'm better than I used to be, but it still eats away at me. All football programmes become a pain to watch after a defeat, if we had won today I'll be catching up on Soccer Am, Football Focus, Football league highlights and MOTD but now I cant be arsed. Rolll on Wed

It's ruined my day, plus England have lost and I live in Ireland surrounded by rags.

Lockdown on football now til Wednesday.

Tonight is shit no Sky Sports no MOTD and no Sunday Supplement tomorrow, like someone stated earlier. But tomorrow afternoon takes me into next game territory and this weekend will be confined to the statistics book. Only niggle that lingers is the injury situation. If a key player as picked up an injury it doubles the pain. How managers cope I will never know.

Yep won't be watching any sports show till Wednesday can be having with the gloating and bullshit from them all

One day I'll try and go cold turkey on City, will be a real wrench but I could be doing so much more with my weekends.

Some people might read this thread and think we're a bunch of self-entitled wankers. But the way I see it is that if you're gutted or miserable about a defeat then it shows how much the club means to you. No loyal supporter of any club at any level likes losing and I agree it can really fuck up the mindset over a weekend. How much it screws the weekend up depends on whether you have stuff to take your mind off it IMO. As the years gave gone by I've inherited more responsibilities - not kids but things like a mortgage, etc, which bring financial constraints, and don't get out quite as often these days. Now if it was 20 years ago I'd be out on the lash with my mates tonight and we'd be laughing off today's result by the end of the evening.

One thing I'm not though is a knee-jerk reactionist. I can't be doing with all these calls for the manager's head and how half our players are dogshit.

Barely spoke a word to my missus (Spurs fan). To be honest, I have barely communicated with anyone since around 2.30pm. The missus asked if she could watch motd. I gave her look and said, "What do you think? Can't you watch it downstairs?" She stormed off.

Pathetic really but I am a terrible loser. Always have been.

My Mrs (a red dipper) knows better than to ask. And vice versa to be fair.

The game started just before Saturday midnight for me. When the final whistle went just after 1:30am I went to bed and just lay there fuming (at my wife's snoring!))
But when I got up a few hours later, had breakfast and went out into the garden, the weeds bore the brunt of my frustration!!

So you are using a football team as a form of medication? That's a very risky strategy to take if you don't mind me saying

Of course I want to see us win every game, and I am disappointed that we lost today, but a little perspective is needed here

Agreed but I am being honest in that it does bring me joy. The downs do feel, well they don't register in the same way. It's hard to explain.

To be honest I have been looking for perspective in life rather than the blue's results. I used to be worse, now I'm down for a much shorter timescale. The wins though are much stronger in terms of how I feel. Not sure I'm making much sense here.

I know where you and other are coming from but I still maintain that it is a very risky strategy to pin your happiness to something you can not control because as we have seen over the past few weeks shit happens! We have no control over the way most things turn out and that includes the results of football matches

It was much worse when I had to deal with United fans on a Monday morning.

Solution is to move 5000 miles away, then you can at least try and forget it until the next game. Although it clearly doesn't work as I'm on here reading all the shit about yesterday...
