If we win tomorrow we go 7th in the table!

Can we do it??

If we do, will we be able to stay there until the end of the season?

Do we have any chance of finishing higher than 7th, or is this the best we can hope for this term??

I personally am a bit worried about tomoorow because in the games that I think we are sure to win i.e. Stoke, WBA we go and fuck it up.

I think that 7th would be a decent result for this season - Arsenal, Villa and Everton are better teams than us still (not necessarily better players though).

Onwards and upwards from there into the top 4 next year!

What do you think?

We still get Labelled as in a "relegation dogfight" PMSL they hate us

This. They won't mention Spurs but be ready for them to say that we are RIGHT THERE in the relegation scrap.

Of course we can do it, but this is a massive month for us, everybody knows we have poor away form, and our next 3 league games are away from home, without SWP, We have Pompey, Liverpool and West Ham, thers no reason why we cant beat Pompey and West Ham, and Liverpool's home form is poor, so we could get a point at anfield or a sneaky win!

I am intrigued as to why you felt it necessary to write "seventh" and then "(7th") just to clarify.

Is your job updating the Football Focus Videprinter on a Saturday afternoon?

Before Tony Adams was sacked, I thought we might just win...but no longer. They will have a highly vociferous crowd behind them, a narrow pitch and we will have tired legs...not too many Pompey players are international class. My new prediction is a 2-0 defeat and we will struggle to finish above ninth given that we have seven no-pointers coming away from home before the season ends.

We will finish 7th and that will seem like a great season after the start we had but in truth we probably won't get the number of points we had last season. With the investment we've had that is pathetic.

This will be 0-0. Too many of our players played mid week in internationals and Hughes teams can't play 2 games in a week

Judge them next season, re the investment. 45m spent in jan can't really turn around the very average 1st half of the season. He had spent about 50m pre season if you take away both Jo and tbh. Pretty much the same as sunderland and spurs.

I admire your optimism, and indeed we might.

On the other hand Everton could slip up and we could finish 6th. Or maybe we keep losing away and our home form deserts us as well and we end up 15th.

To be quite honest I have no clue how its all going to pan out. (But I can't *believe* we are 20 points behing Villa already. 20 bleeding points, Jesus.)

Who have both got shot of their manager.

So it's £100m+ and a full season before anyone forms an opinion on what a manager is doing?

Riiiight.

Adams, Ince, Scolari, Sammy Lee, Chris Hutchings, Alladyce and all the others better be informed then. They were given neither the money or the time. Their lawyers will obviously win them millions at tribunal once they cite this "we must have £100m+ and then another full season before we show anything like decent results" rule
