Thread aimed at the younger lads, what do you do about these on a night out? Seems more and more are getting jobs. Apparently I left a staff do last night as the DJ was shite.

Hate being a music lover.

Generally I feel that if the company I'm with is good I don't care what's being played. Can dance to anything except serious cheese music. Why any DJ would find it appropriate to blare out the likes of Grease Lightning, or the Dirty Dancing theme tune is totally beyond me. Those bothered me in Uni, bit older now, mid twenties, and tend to be able to scope out good nights (or more crucially, my friends do) and we just go along to them. Good company, and good music!

What music do you like?

Get more drunk and join in, or go and find a band, or fuck it off completely and go home to get wasted and listen to decent tunes.

Proper into my raw deep and classic garage. Hard to get a decent DJ on a 'let's go on a night out' basis, you have to go to your main ticketed events so it's bollocks. Even now with the 'deep house' craze it's all shite which they fuck up.

I'm surprised there isn't bars/clubs you can find playing that sort of music on a spontaneous basis in Manchester? Difficult for me to say because my friends do all research and I just go with the flow.

Also, can you PM me some links of the stuff you're talking about? Always open to new stuff, and on a bit of a garage vibe at the moment myself!
