Get more drunk and join in, or go and find a band, or fuck it off completely and go home to get wasted and listen to decent tunes.

Only this yaya, only this... no queue at the bar/fridge, no twat wanting to scrap with you(the mrs the odd time),no scrappin' in the queue for a kebab(toast topper and grill)... oh and the floor is yours bayyyybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

-- Sat Apr 05, 2014 9:52 am --

Thread aimed at the younger lads, what do you do about these on a night out? Seems more and more are getting jobs. Apparently I left a staff do last night as the DJ was shite.

Hate being a music lover.
Do you know the dj from moon under the water(deansgate i think)?

I don't mate, but I know where you mean. I don't really go out in town now as I'm in Liverpool for uni so know more of the DJ's here. I know one of the Sankey's lads and another place, I think it's called Ritz? But I never go there anyway.

Generally I feel that if the company I'm with is good I don't care what's being played. Can dance to anything except serious cheese music. Why any DJ would find it appropriate to blare out the likes of Grease Lightning, or the Dirty Dancing theme tune is totally beyond me. Those bothered me in Uni, bit older now, mid twenties, and tend to be able to scope out good nights (or more crucially, my friends do) and we just go along to them. Good company, and good music!

What music do you like?
Proper into my raw deep and classic garage. Hard to get a decent DJ on a 'let's go on a night out' basis, you have to go to your main ticketed events so it's bollocks. Even now with the 'deep house' craze it's all shite which they fuck up.

I'm surprised there isn't bars/clubs you can find playing that sort of music on a spontaneous basis in Manchester? Difficult for me to say because my friends do all research and I just go with the flow.

Also, can you PM me some links of the stuff you're talking about? Always open to new stuff, and on a bit of a garage vibe at the moment myself!
As I've said mate, I'm in Liverpool. There's many a place but a lot of them are specific events and ticketed. I'll whiz over a PM in a bit, still a bit hanging..

No rush, about to go out myself (7 hours ahead of you!)

Ahh rite mate it's just that i know the resident dj, never been myself but he has been there for years now.

I am forced to listen to that Key 103 thing every day in work. Oh my fucking life, it is absolutely shite. I've not been exposed to daytime radio for a good few years (I'm a 6music man myself), but if Key 103 is anything to go by, then I'm stunned they have any listeners who have any kind of affinity with music. Utter, utter dross - and the DJs are just fucking woeful.

I was in a club in town a good 17 years ago and noticed that the DJ was playing a dance mix cd that I had at home called "In the Mix". He was making himself look busy like he was blending tracks in and spinning discs but I knew every song he was going to play for about 10 in a row. Bizarre.
