depends how experienced he was in the glider, if the pilot ditched it in the lake and shaikh ahmad wasn't familiar with the aircraft he might not of been able to release his harness and sunk with the glider.

sad times for the family, should of thought he would of been found by now so i can only think he has died.

Well of course it could, doesn't make the whole episode seem any less ropey, as it would if it was a member of our royal family.

Just read this on the gulfnews website. For me any hope of finding Sheikh Ahmad alive is over now. If reports are true, and they are still searching 3 days after he went missing i think its fair that we face the reality that he is no longer alive.

I will though wait for reports confirming this before i pass any condolances.

UAE rescue team continues search for Shaikh Ahmad in Morocco

The glider pilot who was rescued after the crash in Morocco is now in a stable condition




Abu Dhabi: The UAE Search and Rescue Team is continuing the search for Shaikh Ahmad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (Adia) and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Foundation for Charity and Humanitarian Works, who is still missing following a glider accident on Friday.

The glider crashed into a lake near the Sidi Mohammad Bin Abdullah Dam near Rabat.

The Search and Rescue team, which left for Morocco on Friday, said that search operations are still ongoing with help from other international teams. However, the nature of the terrain is making the survey and tracking efforts especially challenging.

The pilot of the glider who was rescued after the crash is now in a stable condition.

The pilot who was rescued is in good condition, but the search for Shaikh Ahmad is continuing, the statement said, adding that a new statement would be issued about any developments.
