I am not a cabbie and making the assumption that all of Gaunties fans are white van men, brickies and cabbies is bordering on childish(I actually alluded to my true profession on the congestion charge thread but got shouted down by a little Englander).
Having recently had the pleasure of reading 'Undaunted' the full and Frank auto biogrpahy by Gaunt I would advise you all to beg steal or borrow a copy (PM me if you'd like to) It is a truely insporing tale of triumph over tragedy. The likes o Shami would not have lasted a day in Gaunts world.

Not sure what a WUM is but thanks. The only point I agree with that you have listed is the final one (to an extent) I would certainly propose some sort of mandatory community service. I am not comfortable with the 'military' aspect of it (do we really want the feckless ferral's to be trained killers?) but I certainly like the idea of people having a sense of belonging in the community. It could be painting fences, clearing litter, teaching kid’s football.....but it should be mandatory and ‘no shows’ should be imprisoned-and real prisons please, not Butlins.
