Milner definitely wanted out he was valued here and I suspect Pep would've loved to work with him but he clearly stalled with 2 years left, it got to 18 months or lower left and he even said he might need to leave for regular first team football, I'm sure in his last season he actually started more than anyone else outfield we absolutely wanted him to stay, the offer stayed on the table until very late in the season when it had become obvious he'd agreed to move on.
He later changed his excuse to playing in a favoured position something that never happened there, so then it became about something else I can't remember what exactly but we clearly didn't shit on him, then after that another thing cropped up his excuses were full of shit, all to try and make him look better to us after he'd already burnt bridges with our fans.
If he just turned around initially or even late on saying he loved his time here but wanted a new challenge most fans would've accepted that, instead he acted weaselly and a complete prat though while running down the contract coming up with inane poor excuses, after moving he pretty much slagged us off for no apparent reason at the first opportunity on his unveiling for dippers, that's something me and suspect a lot of others fellow blues really didn't like about him.
We've always given a great applause to good servants and we're always been grateful to a grafter especially one with quality, for me though Milner tarnished what should've still been a very good relationship with our fans, had he acted with more class and decency he'd be held in a lot higher regard, it's not even to do with his move there but the way he acted he actually shat on our club when he also had a choice not to.
