shaun custis , david mcdonnell at eastlands tonight

Were damned if we do , damned if we don't.

They'd love us to storm the press box to write even more negative stories against us. Tonight the talking should be done on the pitch with a solid twatting of the Barcodes.

I don't understand why the Club don't try and cultivate a good working relationship with one of the tabloids. See if they could actually get one of them to support the club etc and in return they'd get a few exclusives and maybe one or two insider stories from "a City source" etc.

Because we havent got a press officer - Paul Tyrell left over 6 months ago and has not been replaced. Keep up man - this has been discussed a number of times

Its the press office that would cultivate these relationships and tell those that dont toe the line to "do one"

Errr yes we do. Phill Hall was helping out in this area, I think Vicki Kloss is also involved. I saw another name mentioned recently (a lady) so they might have someone else involved. Have you noticed how the press now say a City spokeswoman confirmed or commented etc?

Is that not what we tried to do with Martin Samuel recently?

Dunno if that was City using their Daily Mail contacts or whether the views of Samuel's were actually his own. I can't see him peddling somebody else's views if he didn't agree with them.

I think we should try and get the Sun/ News of the World on board.

But wasnt Vicki Kloss, Paul Tyrells assistant and wasnt she something like a private detective before this job ???
She is currently "acting" head of communications -

I think we should tell them to fuck right off

A snippet from the Daily Fail back in September

Manchester City have embraced the game of football spin to the extent that they have as many PR chiefs on their books a s t h e s i x g o a l s p u t p a s t Portsmouth last Sunday. Vicky Kloss leads the in-house PR team, but her predecessor Paul Tyrell is still on the staff, with his exit terms undecided. Former News of the World editor Phil Hall is acting as a consultant for executive chairman Garry Cook and club transfer broker Kia Joorabchian (pictured), while PR guru Matthew Freud advises honorary president Thaksin Shinawatra. New owners Abu Dhabi United Group will have their communications specialist Simon Pearson on the board and he has employed London firm Edelman to work with him.
