Pep Guardiola on
@PhilFoden
: "I want the best for him, the best. He will get what he deserves in good and bad moments. He just works and it always pays off. At 19 you have a lot to improve but with this behaviour he can do whatever he wants

"When they win a trophy, they take a shower and think about the next one. It’s nice what we have done in the last three years but tomorrow we have another final. Away in the FA Cup is always difficult for how important this competition is..."

But we can go through to the quarter-finals and that is what we have to do. We have to be focused on that

Pep Guardiola: "The league is deserved and done

"They trained really well today. They were focused and are ready for tomorrow. I like that.

Pep Guardiola: "In other competitions, we have won two this season and now we have the cup and the Premier League because we have to improve to finish second and get the most points as possible and then there are two competitions

I liked his last comments when asked about Sane, seemed to indicate he see’s the cups as the priority and the league as the place to use games to get players match fit. How it should be now.

Pep Guardiola on this being #ManCity best form of the season: "No. They were tough games - after 12 days off we didn’t know how we would react. The game against West Ham was really good but we have had three really tough away games and now another one..

"Tomorrow we finish this process but after that four days later we have United. It has been suggested we will play Arsenal between United and Burnley and after Madrid so it doesn’t stop."

Pep Guardiola on the gap with #LFC: "The gap is what it is. In knockout games you can have moments but after 27 fixtures the gap is big because they deserve it. There are no doubts about their position. They deserve to be there.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Sergio Aguero is FIT after picking up a knock in the Carabao Cup Final

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Leroy Sane will NOT play a part against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow night

No, Leroy is not ready. Six months out - it’s a process. You feel good but confidence - he’s doing the normal steps to come back

Pep Guardiola has confirmed Claudio Bravo is 'okay' and will play against Sheffield Wednesday tomorrow night

Michael Oliver(pool) as referee and no VAR to assist him. How many penalties will he miss this time? Anyway one good thing, he will not get a big game for us in next weeks.

Surely the City first team could be classed as ‘elite’?

I know everyone is disappointed with our current league position but we’re still a fairly decent side. ;-)
I think elite means first choice and likely the team we field vs. Sheffield Weds. will not be "elite".

How annoying was that journo though? The way he asked Pep why he wasn’t playing Sané after Pep told him that he wasn’t ready annoyed me.

I think he might be on the bench, get 20 mins at the end if the games in the bag.

I don’t think it’s the level at which he’s playing as much as the importance. If he’s playing with the kids he can jump out of tackles, take breathers etc. Make sure he gets through the game unscathed. Can’t do that if he’s starting for the first team.

Mine was an apparently failed joke post. ;-)
