Hard to understand Phil being benched after his star performance last week, but remember this is early season, so I understand the need to rotate, and give the key players game time and rest.

There were rumours Phil didn't travel with the team, presumably he's had an illness of some sort, so I suspect he's not trained as much this week. Lots of games to go round, it's a long old season.

Phil really needs to move on if he wants regular football. I've been concerned for a while along with the clubs treatment of Stones and KDB.

Even Kalvin can't get a game. Gonna lose the dressing room at this rate.

Going for a nil nil not enough creativity especially with Grealish playing left back.

And don't get me started on how much haaland is ignored. He really should have gone to another team to truly the best out of him.

Disappointing not to see phil in the side but if hes been ill its understandable. We should be comfortably beating these with that team but looking at that side, we need somebody who doesnt normally do it, to take the game by the scruff of the neck today. Alvarez or Grealish needs to make something happen to ensure we're not in for an uncomfortable afternoon. Hope to see doku get a decent amount of minutes.

Today's bench shows perfectly the point I was making about the need to now replace laporte too despite the majority insisting weve got ample cover. 2 defensive injuries which is very much par for the course especially with the injury records of our players and we suddenly have no senior defensive options on the bench. We are going to suffer if we go into the season with 7 defenders.
