Sheffield Wednesday - 6 more points deducted! (P37)

As expected we have received a further points deduction due to breaching EFL rules, hopefully that is the end of it before next season.

Also Chancer banned from being an owner or director of a club for 3 years. I mean if a club was considering him you'd have to question their sanity :)

I really don't understand this points deduction thing. Talk about kicking someone while their down. How on earth is this supposed to help anyone?!?

I think it's set up to deter the clubs from going down that road, but all the ones that have had points deducted seem to have had absolute loonies in charge that couldn't give a fuck, it's a bit like a smack head knicking out of the shop, they know it's wrong but don't care if they are caught, where as most folk just wouldn't do it

As bonkers as it seems as @Gaz76 it's to deter "wronguns"

I don't have an issue with it as we've broken the rules so should be punished, be interesting how Leicester City get on with their "alledged" charges.

This stinks by the EFL, Sheffield Wednesday should sell all their first-team players and play the youth players in the remainder of the season and start afresh in the summer ? Save some money on wages

Simple, the EFL should be protecting their clubs with a buyer's protection fee of around 50% of the value of the club you're buying, like a deposit you get back after if you move on or sell up, Also, involvement and monthly reports by officials from both parties

As I posted to you a while back

No way you were going to compete anyway so best get all the points out of the way all the punishments in a season that was always going to end in relegation which makes all these pathetic punishments a waste of time but for Wednesday it clears the slate

Using this season to blood young kids get a season in their legs also knowing no dejection or shame and moral denting in the process

Plus except for the pigs and possibly other Yorkshire clubs the whole country is behind you
30k gates for the rest of the season I’m anticipating a Deja vu season bit like when Big Jack took you out of Div 3 in May 1980 great days I went to every game home and away even Exeter after the Boxing Day massacre

Cheers m8

It does feel weird going to games knowing it will be a defeat, when clubs go through barren times fans still have that thought of "we might win today" but this season doesn't feel like that.

For me I wish we could just forfeit games for the rest of the season, and come back in August.

Saves me going thrhough the motions :)

Go through the motions you’ve a right of passage to just go and be proud of the club and the effort the players and staff are demonstrating… class act the whole club

In fact I’m going to start going again after Xmas as long as City aren’t at home

Not being funny or sarky here fella, but I guess this latest deduction is pretty much irrelevant. It's looking unlikely that the 6 points you lost today will be the difference between you staying up and going down. Hopefully, this season will be an opportunity for a reboot of the club.

Fuckin' 'ell! We got used to it my friend. You'll get your equivalent of our "York - Away" next season, then it's onward and upward.

Mike Ashley's football model;-

1. Get your team to the PL by hook or by crook
2. Invest minimally in the team
3. Get relegated but reap the 3 years of parachute payments
4. Get back to PL within the 3 years
Rinse & repeat

PS - You'll get Alan Pardew as manager soon.

People can have a pop at Ashley for the above, but the Geordies were financially viable, if I was a Wednesday fan I would sleep well knowing the club was going to be run on a sound footing rather than some anonymous overseas group come in and buy the club, with no football brain and make another mess of the club.

Yes m8 irrelevant, we weren't staying up with or without any points deductions

Feel for you and the other Wednesday supporters.
This isn't meant to rub salt in the wounds, unfortunately I think you may well take the Championship lowest points total after the latest deduction. Seems pretty redundant doesn't it :(

Don't worry m8, I fully agree.

Current lowest points record is Rotherham with, no way we get 34 more points to beat that.

The amazing result is that Chansiri has been barred from owning a club for three years. Only three fucking years after the devastation he has caused at Hillsborough. What kind of deterrent is that? - Pathetic from the EFL, but not unexpected.
Its a token ban they know deep down he wont ever own an EFL club again
